Does Anthropic believe its AI is conscious, or is that just what it wants Claude to think?

We have no proof that AI models suffer, but Anthropic acts like they might for training purposes.

None of those puddings contain proof. The qualities of the pudding (flavor, texture) are the proof; the original expression is "The proof of the pudding is in the eating." From there we get the shortened "The proof is in the pudding", which IMO is a valid way to shorten the original saying, but which adds ambiguity not present in the original.
