Yeah not really stoked on having a Trumps hair x Will Smith eats spaghetti collaborative moment.Just when I thought that hair couldn't get weirder!
Additionally, experts critically examining freeze frames is not remotely the same context as 2-3 seconds of visibility undergirded by ominous VO.There’s no point in pointing out that an AI-generated photo isn’t real when it’s targeting people who don’t believe in reality.
I’m not sure what the solution here is.

Trump/Fauci Images have strange hair, garbled text, and unnatural body parts.
Please. Do not. Talk about WSES. Please.Yeah not really stoked on having a Trumps hair x Will Smith eats spaghetti collaborative moment.
Was gonna say. Unless anyone has ever made piss-flavored cotton candy on a dare or something, there's nothing natural going on there even in meatspace.Trolls be trolling
Edit:
I also find this quote humorous: “As some people pointed out, Trump's hair looks unnatural in the images”. Did his hair EVER look natural???
It's not plausible, but it's telling that that's what makes an attack ad.I’m really baffled at the pictures showing Trump hugging Fauci. Mostly because my brain refuses to consider, based on existing evidence, that Trump is capable of being affectionate.
That's not what their campaigns are based on.We have politicians using fake stills in their official campaign videos.
WTF.
These are the people who want to have the responsibility of running the country based on being reasonable, rational, and acting with integrity.
Damn it! I was coming in to make the exact same crack about that line, and was beaten in the first comment!Trolls be trolling

It's the WWF-ification of American politics. It's all kayfabe for these people. Whether it's true or not, it metaphorically expresses a narrative and an emotional truth, and those are really all that matter. Trump has been, for the last decade or so, the greatest heel in American politics wrestling. Now that his career is ending, a new, badder heel has to suplex him into the mat and take his belt, so the narrative has to change. There’s no point in pointing out that an AI-generated photo isn’t real when it’s targeting people who don’t believe in reality.

free political speech public figure wharrgarblWhy can't DeSantis be hit with some kind of false representation/damage to reputation lawsuit?
He is a well-known germaphobe, and struggles even to shake hands.I’m really baffled at the pictures showing Trump hugging Fauci. Mostly because my brain refuses to consider, based on existing evidence, that Trump is capable of being affectionate.
Proof that the AI routines are getting better at mimicking reality. As some people pointed out, Trump's hair looks unnatural in the images.

This, but, sadly, my friendly rider of fate, we are in the minority. These images will resonate with the people to which the Republicans have denied education for decades.Unfortunately, faking images of political foes is a long-standing tradition in American politics (and I'd hazard to guess in other countries as well).
If you look back at some of the political cartoons of the 1850's-1950's, they were downright insulting and obnoxious. While cartoons aren't exactly "photos", the precedent is that "art" can be used as a weapon in politics. Calling AI images "art" may be a stretch, but it would be no different than someone using a graphics program to layer Trump and Fauci doing the same things with a little manipulation from Photoshop.
I don't know when people started believing what politicians say, show or promise them, because I was raised to believe in nothing they said or did until or unless it became law. Even "trying" rates pretty low because a lot of legislation is put forward mostly to get brownie points from their constituents, or to knowingly elicit a compromise since the legislation, as written, would never pass.
If a politician waved a picture of their political opponents claiming they were doing something, I'd immediately decide they're lying and far more proof will be needed than that to convince me otherwise.
Then again, I'm a cynical SOB these days. Must be from a lack of ice cream...
