Citing its underage eroticism, Sony America pulls plug on Japanese video game

Story<BR><BR>Sony America has declined to release the Japanese title Rule of Rose in the US, judging its content too offensive for US gamers and politicians. Is it a sign of American prudery, sound moral decision, or good business?

Well, Well...<BR><BR>Some hypocrisy now, uhm?<BR><BR>I don't understand U.S. people, it's really hard :p.<BR><BR>You can see one thousand violent deaths on films, you see the same characters with the same polliticaly correct roles - joker black guy who never dies :-D , the pretty and cool white or black girl, the hard white boy...-, a ton or other politically correct stupid things... And nobody claims for U.S. mental sanity :-D.<BR><BR>You see a pair of breasts - even a nice only one, Janet ;-) - , and the world is near to end. <BR><BR>What happens with U.S. people ? U.S. is the first porn producer worldwide, and you cannot see a pair of breasts in one videogame there, or even an erotic plot.<BR><BR>Somebody can explain why ? It's a big paradox.<BR><BR>Doraemon rulezzz !!!

Why? Because our country was founded by puritan Christians over two-hundred years ago, and they've done quite a job at trying to preserve their values over that time. They were always uptight about sex, but not about making war, which is why violence is no big deal to them. I am American but I know it doesn't make any sense at all. But I live in a country with a lot of people who never really think logically about the things they believe, they are too socialized into our society's ways of seeing the world to ever really examine the reasons why things came to be this way. Anything, no matter how bizarre, can seem completely normal if you've grown up with it always being that way. And that goes for all cultures the world over.

<br><br>For whatever reason, it hasn't taken on that connotation in the U.S. Here, it just sort of means "serious (and nerdy) anime aficionado."<br><br>"Geisha" got warped when it came over, too (there's a lot of confusion among Americans with "prostitute," even though sex was <i>not</i> supposed to be among a geisha's duties at work).<br><br>Ah, here's Wikipedia to back me up. I just watched trailers #1-3 and I totally missed out on the sexual aspect. It looks like a nice twisted horror game, but I didn't really see anything that would be considered erotic. <BR><BR>Am I just that twisted or numb to these things?<BR><BR>EDIT: Aha, finally watched the "right" trailer. I think I understand better now.
