Another fad. And one that only those with the cash get a worthless-if not dangerous- 'treatment.'

Apparently you have not heard of the Goop fad with Gwynneth 'Brainless' Paltrow.

She is either a complete idiot, or crafty like a fox fooling people into buying her shit products.

Can we see if the blood of the rich has any medicinal properties?
According to the sellers, aging, memory loss, Parkinson's, MS, Alzheimers, heart disease, and PTSD. I mean, they're selling their blood for $8K/l. They've got to be rich by this point.

Oh, I've heard of it and her. How does what she does discredit what I said?

It takes skill to sell people hopes and dreams.

I'm sure the people making the claims aren't the people making the blood.

Damn it, I'm passed the age where I can sell my plasma to dumbasses who are willing to pay ridiculous sums for it. That was gonna be my #1 get rich quick scheme and now it's RUINED!
Well if they're willing to sell people on bullshit claims, who says they're not willing to sell people on bullshit ages?

Is there a way to get these companies to release the data?

Worried at this point they have a sketchy data set which they are showing prospective buyers. They can scam people by saying the FDA does not have any data saying that it does not work because the research has not been done, and then hold up their sketchy data saying they have done research and it shows that it does work. Lets get the data out and held up to real scrutiny.

I'm not sure how much I want to research this "Ambrosia" company, but how does this not run afoul of "practicing medicine without a license"?

And if there's a licensed physician involved, how does it jibe with "first, do no harm"?

Just. Wow.

First, you set up Company A (now a rights carrying person) and they publish material about how awesome blood transfusions are and that is all that they do. Nothing else.

Second you set up Company B (a separate rights carrying person) and they offer blood transfusions but specifically state they make no claims whatsoever for health benefits.

As long as the two never interact you can continue with the legal fiction that there is nothing shady going on.

How do you get in on the other side of this? I'll sell a liter of my blood for $8,000...
Ahh no no no. You sell a liter for $8, then these folk sell it for $8000 to someone desperate or gullible enough. See how that works? :(

Sounds to me like it is time for another startup then...

This has to be the end times, as I cant' imagine the stupid burning any more than it already does.

You must be quite young. We've seen far stupider in decades past.

Just look at 'Nam. Bay of Pigs. Salem Witch Trials. Spanish Inquisition. Bloodletting. Putting actual cocaine in Coca-Cola. Doctors smoked in hospitals while pontificating to patients about health a mere four decades ago.

To name a few.

In some people—particularly those with heart disease—the infusions can also overload the circulatory system, causing swelling and breathing trouble, the agency explains.
It's 1.5L of plasma over a two day period. That's nearly a 20% boost in total volume. I can't imagine that's healthy for anyone to take. Do your kidneys just rapidly flush all that extra out?

That's his point. We're supposed to be better smarter by now.

As far as I know you can't sell your own blood as it's illegal to pay money for it. That's why the source people are called "donors." They're likely paid for their time sitting in a chair while they also happen to be donating their blood products for commercial use. (e.g. Green Cross America and other pharmaceutical research corps...).

I'm not sure how it's legal to sell the transfusion service under current FDA laws. I'm less familiar with that end.

When the rich are literally consuming the blood of the poor, it's possible the wealth gap has grown too wide.

I'm not sure whether I want this shut down, or the suckers (pun intended) doing this to suffer the consequences of overpriced unsafe quasi-medical treatments.

But either way it's time to fix tax policy.
