I was able to watch most of B5 as re-runs on TNT during college. It was 5 days a week at end of day. I didn't record it, but they were doing all 5 seasons in order, and then restarting it. If I missed any eps, I just caught them on the replay.

If folks are interested, there are some guys doing a podcast as they watch through the eps for the first time. They are Star Trek podcasters who have decided to watch all the B5 eps in order, and review them.

Yep. I've been listening to it for about a month and am caught up. They are doing Passing through Gethsemane. That will blow their minds when they see Brad Dourif.

This podcast was recommended to me when I started listening to X-Treks, an audio reaction to the two hosts watching selected episodes of ToS and X-Files. It's delightfully perverse.

Heck, start with Season 2. If someone bounces off Season 2, it wasn't their thing in the first place. About halfway through the second season-- say, once you've watched The Coming of Shadows, go back and watch In The Beginning and Season 1 so you pick up all the foundations.
Gotta keep in mind that I never missed an episode when it aired. I had to hurry home, but made the sacrifice of taking the least popular shift at the place I worked (10am-7pm) so that I would not miss an episode. But I did not catch all of the movies, and I missed Crusade.

Maybe if this goes well enough they will rescan the show and at least give us consistant SD quality.

Some of the current episodes are just horrible.
Maybe things have gotten better with recent advances in AI upscaling tech for videos but it's been my understanding that the biggest roadblock to a proper HD upgrade is that they'd have to go back and rebuild all the CG from scratch as the original files were lost or not kept.

I don't even need HD. I'd like a consistantly good SD and a lot of the episodes, even on streaming, aren't there.

The AI stuff has gotten good if you have a quality DVD to start from but without that even the passion of the DS9 community couldn't fix everything.

And I'd say a larger percentage of B5 episodes are piss poor scans than it was for DS9.

Babylon 5: The Road Home will continue the story he started in the 1990s, with the log line stating, “Travel across the galaxy with John Sheridan as he unexpectedly finds himself transported through multiple timelines and alternate realities in a quest to find his way back home.
That is disappointing to me. Too much time travel.

I’m not worried about time travel. The one other time B5 did it, it was fantastic, a high point of the show.

I’m really intrigued that the cast includes both Claudia Christian and Tracy Scoggins. This‘ll be the first B5 thing to have both Ivanova and Lochley in the same episode, won’t it?

Do we have an idea of when in the timeline this is set? The season two to four arc would be nice and would fill out more of the main story, but would also constrain big swings. But then again, more Londo and J’Kar would be amazing.

But the redemption of Lennier would be a great story.
It's at least after season 2 starts, since Delenn has hair. And since it's a time traveling / universe hopping story (per this Space.com article), who the hell knows?

I think I'm done reading up on it though. I want to see the animation in motion, but I'll be trying to go into this as free of spoilers as possible. Hopefully. We'll see. :p

We can place that image much further along the timeline than that: Lennier's a ranger, and Sheridan's out of uniform.

Yeah. I still want to see it in motion, but the bones are there for something good. The shadows around the faces indicating where light sources are give me some hope.

Please be good please be good please be good please be good....

A good story is paramount, and most important.

If it's animation, it should be something that doesn't distract or throw you out of the story.
