I can also handle being annoyed at the people who announce Hey It's Just My Opinion, Why Are You Annoyed? Especially when they do it with multiple ??? and don't realize they might get the same answer back to them. Hey, It's Just My Opinion, Why Are You Annoyed? I'm capable that way.

Like a lot of people, I can handle multiple things at the same time. One of the things that I can handle amidst all the other stuff is being annoyed at people who lecture everyone that they're not allowed to be concerned about something Because Other Things Are Worse.

Magnetic Connector for Lightning - Experience/Recommendations

Set up giant spinning magnets throughout his house that will induce a current in everything. Voila! Permanent charging.* *This is absolutely not guaranteed since I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Magnetic Connector for Lightning - Experience/Recommendations

As a potential alternative, if you don't find anything that works in magsafe land, how about plugging in an adapter permanently and then having him plug the cable into the adapter? That way if something gets mangled, it's the adapter, not the machine. I'm thinking of a lighting to USB-C...

I think right there is why Apple built the Neo. For every user who, like your daughter, previously brought a MBA because something cheaper wasn't available, how many went and brought something cheaper and non-Apple? Didn't Jobs talk about it being better for Apple to cannibalize itself rather...

From my minimal understanding of product creation, they would have made this decision at least a year ago if not more, which seems largely before the RAMpocalypse really started.

You take those words out of your mouth! The base 14 MBP is an excellent machine and I'm rocking one right now. (sobs, runs away)

Indeed. Though how often do users in this market upgrade the software or operating system? (Though given how hard Apple pushes the OS upgrades...) An interesting and positive side effect for everyone is that Apple now has to make sure that its OS runs reasonably on an A18 8GB machine.

Help me end this tyranny of choice (Pro? Neo? iMac? Ultra?!)

I feel there's an interesting backstory here. (Sell the M1 iMac, keep the MBP, buy a Neo. You can balance the cost of the Neo pretty well with the iMac sale, and you can go back to the MBP when you discover, as you will, just how compromised the Neo is for anyone who posts on the MacAch)

Yes, at the moment it's still reasonably simple: Non-pro Macs: Mini, iMac Pro Macs: Studio, Mac Pro$$$$ Non-pro laptops: Neo, Air Pro laptops: MacBook Pro It starts to get a bit busy when you drill down into each model.

What? Apple taking common features from the PC world and acting as if adding them to the Mac is a revolutionary event? That's never ever happened before.

I'm sorry, but if you have a dozen windows with 40 tabs each open -- nearly 500 tabs total -- I have some sympathy for the computer struggling a bit.

iPhone glass getting more prone to scratches over time?

I’ve found what Apple says, which that phones have gotten less prone to scratching.
