Liveblog: Google’s 10/4 Pixel Phone Event starts tomorrow at 9am Pacific

Am I not fully awake yet, or is that liveblog timer off by an hour? It's currently just before 10am Eastern, and the timer says there's 1 day, 3 hours to go. One day from now is 10am Tuesday, and 3 hours after that is 1pm. But the event is supposed to start at noon?

This company believes baby rockets have a big future in space

Despite the promises of the headline, I read the article and still have no idea what an "SFR" is. Small F***ing Rocket?

UK authorities sue Star Wars producer over Harrison Ford’s broken leg

That makes zero sense though. Plays, musicals, etc are choreographed; it's not like someone is going to pull you to the front of the stage during the middle of the show based on how well you are acting. Why would you wish someone good luck by telling them "I hope you end up near the front of the...

More Uber drivers file labor lawsuits: One claims he only makes $80 per week

I think Uber drivers deserve better, but this is a dumb argument. It's impossible to terminate a contractor?

A full catalog of the Antarctic ice shelves that should terrify us

From the ocean's point of view, sure, it's insignificant. From the point of view of us tiny humans living on its edge, not so much. You might as well argue that a large meteor hitting the earth is insignificant, because it happens to other planets all the time.

Android launcher update adds auto-rotate, forces icon size consistency

Nova has actually fixed the issue themselves, but only on rooted devices. I guess it's some sort of limitation or bug in Android that they can't address otherwise.

Review: It’s big, but at $400 the Moto X Pure Edition is a safe bet

Should the lack of wireless charging have been listed as a positive? I don't see how including wireless charging would have hurt the phone in any way, and since there are some people who care about it, the missing feature is a point against the device. If it's a feature that you don't care...

You got TV in my video game: Telltale, Lionsgate partner for episodic hybrid

I don't understand the point of this. Choices made in-game that affect the plot or outcome of an encounter are great, because they give the player a sense of agency and allow them to make real decisions about what their character would do in a given situation. But in this case, the "choice" of...

Review: Smash Bros. 3DS is a surprisingly good imitation of the real thing

Assist Trophies were introduced in Smash Bros Brawl on the Wii.

Win a free Nintendo 3DS XL in our sweepstakes

I can remember being amazed when I first got my original Game Boy, but I didn't have any more handhelds after that until getting a DS a few years ago. It's astonishing how far we've come!

Tablet game reviews: Icewind Dale 1 & 2, Planescape, ToEE

Didn't Grim Fandango mostly use the keyboard for movement and inventory selection? I don't think it would be a good candidate for the touchscreen. Some of the older Lucasarts games like Monkey Island or Sam & Max would be good, though -- they already work great on a DS with ScummVM :-)
