Fiat Chrysler merges with PSA Group, owner of Peugeot and Citroën

In Europe they are seen somewhere above Volkswagen and below BMW. Pretty expensive for a family car, but good quality. That means having no technical problems below 150.000km at BMW luxury levels. They used to have arguably the best diesel engines in the world, they were hard hit by Dieselgate...

Fiat Chrysler merges with PSA Group, owner of Peugeot and Citroën

Agree 100%. Here in Europe the Renegade is built on a Fiat chassis, with engines ranging from 1 liter to 1.3 liters. People buy them in strodes and use them in cities. So much for the SUVs... In China they also love "American" brands.

Fiat Chrysler merges with PSA Group, owner of Peugeot and Citroën

Peugeot/ Citroën/ Opel use only two engines (one gas, one diesel) with different power levels controlled by software. Only one electric model, the e208, launched last month. No hybrids. Bigger engines come from BMW. Cars produced mostly outside of France, but in EU. Apparently the...

Missiles and drones that hit Saudi oil fields: Made in Iran, but fired by whom?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/0 ... -war-iran/ The reality is the Saudis are deeply skittish about the prospects of any war with Iran because they know they will be Tehran’s main target.

Facebook’s cryptocurrency might work like loyalty points

Any payment system based on anonymity is dangerous. If someone can get your money in a bad way and never fear being caught, it's a bad system.

Dragon was destroyed just before the firing of its SuperDraco thrusters

It's a very bad thing to happen, but this may turn out to be good in the long run. It's obvious there is an unknown problem with the capsule and they will fix it. If it had people on board, SpaceX and Nasa would have looked really really bad.

Israeli group says it will make a second attempt to land on the Moon

I just wish people will start using the new opportunities of "cheap space" to try to make some actual science, not launching into orbit vanity projects for politicians / cars / "destroying other satelites to scare other nations".

Panasonic stops investing in Tesla Gigafactories as sales slump

Europe (the EU, at least) will go through some critical changes in the next few years in regards to electrical cars. Because the manufacturers will be forced to include in their sales electric vehicles so that their average car sold will not exceed 95g/km of CO2, the demand for cheap electric...

Hyperloop startup says construction on Abu Dhabi track will commence in Q3 2019

I just returned from a visit to CERN, they have a 1300 million euros budget / year so that about 12000 young scientist experiment, build and test the world of tomorrow. The way that some in the arab oil/gas world are throwing money away in stoopid ideas just to look 'modern' in the eyes of the...

Quantum observers with knowledge of quantum mechanics break reality

Why are there still articles like this about quantum mechanics? It's a well understood field, there are already several practical use in real life and they keep multiplying and still there is this idea: 'Behold, you mere mortals, this is way over your head, let me give you an explanation like...

NASA isn’t going to pay for the BFR, so Musk charts a new course

There's a big RISK it would never take off, let alone land, if it doesn't get the funding. Frankly, I hope I'm wrong on this one.

NASA isn’t going to pay for the BFR, so Musk charts a new course

The BFS seems like the real incredible idea looking at what it must achieve. I presume it has to land like an airplane/Space Shuttle after going around the Moon. All this seems... Too big , way too big. They have to demonstrate human safe flight before anybody sane would invest real money. I...

As the SpaceX steamroller surges, European rocket industry vows to resist

"the Ariane 5 rocket was designed for performance, akin to a luxury car, rather than economy. Among its features, the booster had a unique payload carrier that can distribute two larger satellites into orbit, allowing customers to share the cost." Ariane 5 has a problem in the sense that it...
