Ukraine is game to you? Part deux.

Dont worry. Russian propaganda already have answer. We suddenly learned that Venezuelan jungle climate is so harsh that all equipment just rust and rot immediately.

In a first, NASA orders astronauts home after unspecified medical issue

Medical equipment for Lunar base or Martian expedition should be subject of an in-depth study. I doubt anyone can offer meaningful answer to this question in real time.

NASA postpones space station spacewalk due to crew member’s “medical concern”

First space illness incident for NASA, but not overall. One soviet cosmonaut fell ill in space and mission has to be aborted. He was self-medicating health issue before flight to avoid risk to be pulled out of mission. Sorry, I do not remember name and mission.

Rocket Report: OpenAI’s launch overture; South Korea making progress in space

Bizarrely named Russian rocket have no connection to real Sarmatians. You may want to check Wikipedia article on 'Sarmatism'. In short, Sarmatism was medieval cultural fantasy fashionable in Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (PLC). Core tenet was belief that Polish nobility are not Slavs, but...

Russian launch pad incident raises concerns about future of space station

Wooden scaffolding is discussed in forums, but Soyuz engines still use concentrated hydrogen peroxide monopropellant for turbines. Peroxide and wood mixes way too energetically...

Russian launch pad incident raises concerns about future of space station

Platform was retracted, but because platform was not properly secured, pressure differential sucked platform out. There is speculation that platform may be not properly secured in past launches but ground crews got lucky in those cases.

Russian launch pad incident raises concerns about future of space station

    1. Another Soyuz pad at Baikonur is Pad 1/5 also known as Site 1 or 'Gagarin's Start'. This pad was temporarily closed in 2019 for reconstruction, but in 2023 decision was made to not invest into this pad. Russia is in process of leaving Baikonur and anyway Putin ordered to cut down non-military...

Russian launch pad incident raises concerns about future of space station

As far as I understand from discussions between insiders, ground infrastructure has sensors to indicate that platform is retracted, but 'brakes' are completely manual devices. This is reminder that Soyuz is rocket from 1950ies and many things on launch pad require manual labor. Perhaps craziest...

Russian launch pad incident raises concerns about future of space station

I checked 25-page thread on Novosti Kosmonavtiki forum. Major points: 1. This 'cabin' big and complex part of ground infrastructure. Not transportable and not designed to be dismantled. 'Months' would be needed to rebuild as crash project, even if some parts can be cannibalized elsewhere. 2...

Russian launch pad incident raises concerns about future of space station

Sabotage claims already hit Russian social networks. Photos with hand-painted note are circulated as 'proof'. Only caveat is that photo was taken in 2016 in Vostochny and note was aimed at construction contractor (contractor did not pay worker salaries for months).

After a decade Russia’s native-built Soyuz 5 rocket finally reaches the launch site

Baikonur is more than launch site collection. Complex payloads like Soyuz normally require very specific pre-processing facilities. Russia may have some vague plans to launch manned spacecraft from Vostochny but in reallity Baikonur pad repairs should be faster solution.

Ukraine is game to you? Part deux.

I strongly disagree about Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovakia had strong army (for small-ish country) and weapons production hub. In Czechoslovakian betrayal, Germany effortlessly seized a significant amount of military equipment: 2,175 field cannons, 469 tanks, 500 anti-aircraft artillery pieces...

Ukraine is game to you? Part deux.

Rumors are floating in Europe about this new Trump's 'peace plan'. Plan apparently includes full Russian wishlist. Reports claim that main Russian 'concession' is... promise (no joke)... to not conduct any further attacks on Ukraine or other European countries.

Intuitive Machines—known for its Moon landers—will become a military contractor

Unfortunately sometimes you need weapons to keep foreign ruling class to their side of border. Ukraine is horrible example what can happen in case of naive demilitarization...

Ukraine is game to you? Part deux.

According to unverified claims, drones found in Poland are Russian Gerbera decoy drones equipped with additional fuel tanks and western SIM cards (Polish and Lithuanian cards were allegedly found). That is drones were intentionally modified to intrude Poland. Russian troll sites (that I checked...

Ukraine is game to you? Part deux.

What do we know at this moment? According to Polish authorities at least 19 drones intruded Polish airspace at night 9th to 10th September. Remains of 14 crashed drones was found as of about 19:00 local time today. Debris of unidentified rocket found in village 50km from border. 4 drones shot...

After recent tests, China appears likely to beat the United States back to the Moon

Interesting. Looks like China copied lunar mission scheme from latest Soviet design (N1L3M). Dual launch 1st launch delivers Lunar module and Tug stage to Lunar orbit. 2nd launch launches manned Lunar transfer vehicle to Lunar orbit. Docking in Lunar orbit, 2 persons transferred into Lunar...

    🦄 Current Events Monday August 25, 2025 through Sunday August 31, 2025

I have issue with implied claim that those nasty Americans somehow created or are somehow responsible for all those (allegedly 'proxy') wars. Claim that is overused anti-American propaganda item and is key ingredient of Russian propaganda. This single sentence tells me all I need to know about...

Calling Russian attack on Ukraine, civil war in Syria against gruesome dictatorship and wars in Somalia, Yemen as "American-sponsored shadow wars and proxy conflicts" surely adds to this journalist's credibility (sarcasm). Quote from cited article:

Ukraine is game to you? Part deux.

No explicit clarification, but press release wording implies victims were Ukrainian refugees, not dual citizens.
