Trump and his FCC chair demand more positive news coverage of Iran war

The only specific news outlets Trump’s post mentioned were The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, but he was referring to a Wall Street Journal article.
Isn't the WSJ owned by the Murdoch family? Is Fox News too liberal and woke for the administration now?

I'll be so happy when we never have to hear from any of them again. Can't even go 24 hours without some buffoonery.
Where are they gonna go? Even if we miraculously still have a democracy in 2028, theres still the 80 million people who voted for this three times. I don’t see any prominent conservatives who are not fully sociopathic authoritarians capable of wooing support from this coalition of nihilistic racists.

Let's break this down:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
Well, they're already favoring the malignant for m of Christianity, so the first one is done
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
Almost there, especially with anything that doesn't have the zombie as part of it.
or abridging the freedom of speech,
That's been shot to shit repeatedly already by this administration
or of the press;
Oh, gee I guess they fucking overlooked this one now.
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble
Peaceful protests being violently put down? So check this one off of our civil rights.
, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
What the fuck is the point if they don't listen, let alone act.

If we ever overthrow these fucking Nazis, we show them JUST AS MUCH MERCY AND DUE PROCESS as they showed us. Everyone else gets the stuff we should have had all along, except these fuckwits.

Prison for life without parole or firing squad. I don't care which.

The Trump administration knows this act is not legal. They know it's not going to win in the courts. But they also know that they can tie it up in the courts long enough -- and expensively enough-- that many media operations are going to quietly bend the knee regardless, just to keep from getting roped into the mess. These companies won't make a big fuss about it; they'll just instruct their writers to nuance the articles enough so that it won't appear too critical. "Bombing a school" will become "a near-miss of a military target", for instance.

And who knows; maybe some Trump-appointed stooge actually will give the administration the win. (The executive supremacy clause does indicate that nothing should get in the way of the president wielding his authority; surely that applies to the Constitution and its pesky amendments too? ;-)

But the main goal is, as always, fear. Be afraid that something --anything-- you do might attract the notice of the administration and you'll face the full force of their wrath. Better to bow down before the throne beforehand or --better-- do nothing until instructed by your betters. That's the message the Trump administration is sending.

Criticizing CNN reporting at a press conference on Friday, Hegseth said, “The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better.”

In a civilized society, that statement would prick up the ears of the regulator who has to approve the merger. But in the US as it is today, it's more likely another of Trump's pals will loan Ellison the ideal anchor for a relaunched, MAGAified CNN:

If they want more positivity they shouldn't have started a war based on dementia donnie's whims. I just finished reading a very concerning piece here on substack

A combat-unit commander told non-commissioned officers at a briefing Monday that the Iran war is part of God’s plan and that Pres. Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,” according to a complaint by a non-commissioned officer.

From Saturday morning through Monday night, more than 110 similar complaints about commanders in every branch of the military had been logged by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF).

There is absolutely NOTHING positive to report.

"I'm positive you're a bunch of complete fuck-ups"

Hey Brendan, is that positive enough coverage for you?
Well played, sir.

I'm reminded of a classic scene from Good Morning Viet Nam, where one could easily substitute toady Carr in for the toady Lieutenant Steve, getting eviscerated by the guys in the field (via letters to the station) after a shitty attempt at radio commentary and humor.

"Here's another one, sir.... 'Hey Hauk Carr, eat a bag of shit! You suck!!' .... not a lot of grey area with this one, sir."

I feel this would be a fitting response from veteran network reporters to Carr. Would give me so much hope for humanity if one of them actually had the balls to do it, and his / her boss the balls to defend them on free speech grounds. Then, when Carr pulls the FCC profanity card, boss immediately fines reporter $500 and suspends them for a week... allowing them right back on the air the following week, citing "modest fines" as the "new corporate standard" for issuing punishments.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr earned his job by kissing Trump’s ass. El Cheeto has screwed things up so badly with his “little” war in Iran, that even he figures that he has screwed up. I can only hope that we have an election in November and that voters do the right thing and vote out all of his enablers or enough of them to reign in this outlaw government.
