[Update: As we tick down the final hour or so before the NX curtain is pulled back, let’s enjoy three new videos of gameplay (and weather effects) from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that just went up on Nintendo’s Japanese YouTube account.
Nintendo’s Japanese Twitter account suggests this morning’s preview trailer unveiled this morning will only be three minutes long, which is still longer than the 30 second tease the Wii got back in April of 2006.
Nintendo’s stock price is currently up over 3 percent for the day in Japanese trading in anticipation of the announcement.]
Original story
We’re usually a bit wary of posting news that amounts to an announcement of when another announcement will be coming, especially when the second announcement is only a few hours away. But we’re making an exception tonight to warn you all to be on the lookout for the first concrete information about Nintendo’s mysterious NX console. Nintendo just tweeted that the rollout of the first “Preview Trailer” for the system will happen tomorrow morning at 10 am Eastern Time (7 am Pacific Time).
The trailer will come just over 19 months after Nintendo first mentioned the NX in a casually off-handed way as “a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept.” Nintendo has been silent on the system’s particulars since then, leaving the press to make wild patent-based guesses about the system and to seize on incredibly minor tidbits of information in the rare instances they do leak out.
