I too am interested. We have the SNES my wife got as a teen. It used to be "fine" with it on our TV, but I'd like it to be better.
I splurged a couple years back on the Retrotink 5x pro and don't regret it at all.

An enduring question for me, wrt using Playstation and Playstation 2 hardware. Our TV's own AV inputs and processing look like shite. I have tried a couple of AVRs that have classic AV inputs, neither did a great job either. I have tried two different external HDMI upscalers, neither seemed to work well. In fact, pretty much every so-called upscaler seems to make image quality look like dogshit, especially text.
My next option is a Kaico unit, but it was very cheap so I don't have great expectations.
That Retrotink 5x Pro sounds good but fucking hell is it expensive - £340, plus shipping, taxes etc.
It could just be that PS1 resolution graphics are just never going to look good on a modern TV with a screen easily twice as big, if not 3x, as the kind of TVs the early Playstations were used with. If I had a lot more space, I'd just buy an old CRT TV (a Bang & Olufson MX6000 maybe) and just avoid the issue...
