This is an Asus tablet, Google isn't in the hardware business anymore than they have ever been. You need a bezel of at least that size on the bottom to be able to hold a tablet comfortably. The top one is likely for holding it landscape and for symmetry.":23lc5us1]It will probably be pretty cool- I'm glad Google is getting into the hardware business (die OEMs!), but I don't like the big bezels on the top and bottom.
You did see the part where ASUS is making the hardware - right ?":3vmy3ofq]It will probably be pretty cool- I'm glad Google is getting into the hardware business (die OEMs!), but I don't like the big bezels on the top and bottom.

Your statement fails - when you compare a just announce product that is not out yet - with hardware that is in excess of 8 months old.":2gzxxikc]From a hardware standpoint that thing pretty well curb stomps the ipad mini.
I wonder if Apple is planning to equip the ipad mini with a full retina resolution and an A6 or if they're going to continue their habit of selling last generation sub standard equipment as their less expensive offering.
I would hope so, the mini is around 9 months old now.":1tt80zbh]From a hardware standpoint that thing pretty well curb stomps the ipad mini...

And the mini's specs weren't impressive to start with. Much as I personally dislike it, the screen's quality not its resolution, and the iOS ecosystem not the mini's specs, are what make it desirable to some.":3qxu0kmb]I would hope so, the mini is around 9 months old now.":3qxu0kmb]From a hardware standpoint that thing pretty well curb stomps the ipad mini...
That sounds good.HDMI output through the micro USB port via the SlimPort standard.

Too often I use my iPhone to stream a music service (e.g. Pandora or the local NPR affiliate radio station), and I'd much rather use my Nexus 7 for that purpose so that I can keep my phone free for the occasional phone call or text message.
This is exactly what I was thinking. If we have the money coming in, we will upgrade both of our 2 year old Nexus 7's. They are terrific tablets, but a bit more speed and screen quality are great reasons to upgrade to 32gb as well.":24i15hds]Where can I buy this? The new N7 has better software and better battery life. Is this post supposed to be sarcastic?":1acgmspm]Enough with higher and higher specs. Weird, mine is still as fast as when I got it as a preorder. Maybe the problems only pertain to a few, like the clicky screen issue?":ficc54w7]I hope they sorted out the issues with this one.
