If you're going to buy an electric knife sharpener, just buy the one that works perfectly: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004UGUNFM

It's expensive, but the results are truly astonishing, and far superior to any other knife sharpener I've ever used. I tried to become expert in hand polishing, but I have never been able to come anywhere close to what this machine can do.. Cook's Illustrated agrees - don't bother with any other product, just use this one. (I am *not* getting commissions!)

Better yet, buy none at all. Knife sharpeners *destroy* your cutlery. What you really need is to learn how to use a honing steel. Leave the sharpening to the pros, once every few years at most- especially if you have good cutlery.

Or a stone and/or stropping leather...
