I don't see car companies going back. They have heavily invested in EVS and factories. If US companies go back they're essentially cooked. They're going to be out competed by Chinese EVS. EVs (in every mode of transport) are moving forward globally so it makes sense to do it in the US too

There goes the hope of having affordable EVs in the US. We are going to continue to get mid oversized and overpriced EVs without any competition.

Yes they are nice cars. But I meant cars (many models) that have starting price less than 25k. Maybe even Indian, European or Chinese small cars would work

I think US will be last country to have majority EV car transition because of high prices and lack of low priced vehicles. We need small hatchbacks, sedans, small SUVs. Either let Chinese or other European brands into the US or we will be stuck with ICE

Electric cars alone wont solve the problem. We need safe streets redesign, car free streets, heavy investement in frequent transit, bikes, dense cities

We should also make last mile deliveries with the cities on bikes with PBL corridors without cars as well.

We need to atleast start parting away from car oriented cities, suburban sprawls. All talk and NIMBYs still everywhere. Hopefully one day we can lively, walkable, dense cities and towns

The US is very car centric and the infrastrucutre is build around that. Some of the best ways to reduce traffic incidents is to design safe streets, take cars off the road etc.. Speed limit reduction alone won't do it. We need to completely redesign cities with density, public transit...
