It is actually 14+ years of Settings/Control Panel mashup bs.

An engineering thesis disguised as a coupe: A history of the Honda Prelude

My grandma had an 1988 2.0Si with 5 speed. When i was a little kid i thought it was the coolest thing ever, i never got to drive it although i did get to shift gears from the passenger seat when i was in the car with her. After 10 years in upstate NY and well over 100k miles, she gave it to my...

2026 Australian Grand Prix: Formula 1 debuts a new style of racing

I think they need to unleash this battery charge/discharge limit. 8.5MJ doesnt seem like enough per lap. 15-20 would allow for charging and boosting in and out of every single corner and straight. Also should add charging through front brakes as well. Just go all in on the video game stuff.

F1 in Brazil: That’s what generational talent looks like

Every year this race at this track is amazing. If you have f1tv, try and watch old Brazilian GPs from early 2000s or 80s and 90s. How many more years until Ferrari can make a competitive F1 car? I hope it is next year.

35 percent of VMware workloads expected to migrate elsewhere by 2028

Who else has something resembling DRS? This functionality is probably the #1 reason orgs still using it. Also, why go from one vendor lock distributor in Broadcom Vmware, to another called Microsoft? Good luck getting rid of that in a few more years. What else should people use? Physical servers...

Tiny, removable “mini SSD” could eventually be a big deal for gaming handhelds

The article clearly states the benefits of this over current MicroSD. About 5-10x faster than most MicroSD for reads, probably considerably faster than that for writes. It also shows MTBF(though it does look like company graphic), yet many comments balk at possible durability issue. Wouldnt...

High-severity WinRAR 0-day exploited for weeks by 2 groups

Probably some of the best value in $ spent on software ever, even though i havent used it in a decade, and would. There was a time I used it nearly every day to compress lots of music files into a single large blob for transfer to some other device.

Microsoft kills Windows 11 SE, another in a long line of failed ChromeOS competitors

Yea, the absolute need at some point to do something in bash, when you havent ever done it, seems to make most people frustrated. ANd if you do run linux as a desktop, at some point you will have to do this. Youll do an update, reboot and get the emergency mode boot screen, or the window...

F1 in Hungary: Strategy and fast tire changes make all the difference

It seems like this would be nice, but I doubt they can go back to it. If you watch races from before the no refueling era, you will notice that the refueling rigs were "difficult" to get sealed correctly. And the heat coming off these cars nowadays far exceeds what Indy or NASCAR or IMSA have...

Lotus still knows how to make a driver’s car: The 2025 Emira V6, driven

You forgot the cost of 600lb weight reduction, since the z weighs that much more than this one. May as well put a parts list together for a Lotus killing Lada. No matter what you do it wont compare

F1 in Miami: We’re doing this until at least 2041

Spa isnt just the best F1 track on the calendar, its the best track on the planet. I always find it hard to believe people in Europe dont go to this race. The tickets are some of the cheapest available any year in F1. go to Spa!
