China is scrapping plans for an SLS-like rocket in favor of reusable booster

At least the Chinese are willing to take the plunge into full reusability, even when there's a very real risk that SpaceX's Starship design might not work or might fail. That, to me, is real courage

Will the Ukraine war force ESA to pass on Arianespace, use SpaceX?

If the James Webb Space Telescope 🔭, which was majorly funded by the US (in other words, technically a US satellite 🛰️ with substancial European input) could launch on an Ariane 5 rocket, and the US was cool with it, I don't see why launching this telescope 🔭 on a US launch vehicle (Falcon 9 or...

SpaceX making progress toward orbital Starship test flight later this year

I'm so much surprised that a whole lot of Ars commenters are so astoundingly ignorant of how things are done at SpaceX. You think Elon Musk is just a figurehead CEO who knows nothing? This is truly very hilarious! For so many of the commenters here, their hatred of Elon Musk drives them to...

SpaceX making progress toward orbital Starship test flight later this year

You And you conveniently chose to forget that there would be no SpaceX without Elon Musk. He founded SpaceX. Trying to disconnect Elon Musk from SpaceX is an exercise in futility, mate. Without the engineering-first and designing-from-first-principles culture he created at SpaceX, it wouldn't...

Boeing to ground Starliner indefinitely until valve issue solved

I firmly believe that SpaceX is currently seeding the next talent pool that's going to revitalize the entire American aerospace engineering. SpaceX is indirectly contributing massively to keeping America competitive in aerospace. The USA needs SpaceX more than they realize

Increasingly, the ULA-Blue Origin marriage is an unhappy one

Honest question, guys. Or maybe dumb question? Why can't ULA just use Raptor engines from SpaceX. Raptor is a methalox engine, just like BE-4 from Blue Origin. So what's the catch?

Relativity has a bold plan to take on SpaceX, and investors are buying it

I think Relativity Space will succeed and I wish them all the best. It's not going to be easy though. They'll encounter failures for sure. But if they press on despite the failures, I see them successfully emerging as a viable competitor to SpaceX.

Five reasons why NASA’s Starship award is a watershed moment in spaceflight

I believe the lunar rover that will be used on the moon will most likely be the Tesla Cybertruck. No need for s bespoke solution

Bill Nelson backs NASA decision on lunar lander in confirmation hearing

Maybe BO needs someone like Shotwell to get things done. I doubt if they could get someone like Elon Musk into their team. Very sad because they actually need a Shotwell and an Elon

Rocket Report: SpaceX abandons catching fairings, ULA bets on upper stages

I believe a short fall of gravitas is still under construction, according to a recent Musk tweet a month ago or so

China officially plans to move ahead with super-heavy Long March 9 rocket

I'm hopeful that Starship will have a bigger payload capacity than this Chinese super heavy rocket in the future

SpaceX launched a Starlink mission Sunday, another on tap for Wednesday

I read on Teslarati this morning that the 2 fairing halves were BOTH successfully caught on Ms Tree and Ms Chief. Could someone else please confirm this? Thanks

NASA will award Boeing a cost-plus contract for up to 10 SLS rockets

American government procurement for anything space or military is a mindboggling waste of epic proportions
