Twitter to un-verify people who don’t pay $8/month starting on April Fools’ Day

Candidly, I don't really give a shit. I don't expect your viewpoint to match mine and America is the land of stupid after all these days, so yeh, pot calling kettle black in a way.

Manchin vows to sue Biden administration over EV tax credits

I'm finding this interesting but I wish you hadn't all assumed I was British, I find parts of the UK system just as baffling and we're technically based off them,

Manchin vows to sue Biden administration over EV tax credits

Aus is based on the UK somewhat but not the same, and I'm 100% genuine, I didn't know the USA system was this... disconnected party wise compared to here for example,

OpenAI may be sued after ChatGPT falsely says Aussie mayor is an ex-con

Oh we have the worst defamation laws in the "first world", they're fucked here. But we have very low damage payout limits.

Best Buy starts selling mail-in tech recycling boxes

So they're charging people so they can profit off the returned items.... this is a new low in capitalism imho. In Australia we have electronics recycling laws that put the onus on the companies than manufacture and sell electronics, not allow them to charge consumers for what they should already...

I intentionally respond to stupid with stupid, sue me. That is all I will say on the matter.

Manchin vows to sue Biden administration over EV tax credits

Thankyou for giving a detailed answer. I am stuck on "an elected member, who is part of the party who is in Government, is not a member of the Government" part. That is completely foreign as a concept to me. Democracts are in Government, he's an elected Democrat, ergo he is currently part of the...

Manchin vows to sue Biden administration over EV tax credits

Which doesn't make it any less eyebrow raising when you see a Democrat of this stature wanting to sue his own Executive Government, to those outside the USA. The entire notion is clearly a very USA specific thing.

3CX knew its app was flagged as malicious, but took no action for 7 days

Sure but they aren't the same thing. We're talking system admin administered very sophisticated network wide detection software vs misleadingly named AV products on an end user system, they aren't comparable and the user behaviour of ignoring something is not the same as an alert to a trained...

3CX knew its app was flagged as malicious, but took no action for 7 days

Fair I guess. Does Sentinel's reputation go up significantly at this point presumably though? What is IDR btw?

Manchin vows to sue Biden administration over EV tax credits

Sorry but huh?? How are Democratic Congress members not part of the Democratic Government? What separation of powers, there is none there... A non-Democrat member of Congress (or the Senate, does Congress refer to lower or both?) is not a member of the executive, but a member of the same party...

Manchin vows to sue Biden administration over EV tax credits

OK that might be the convention in America but that doesn't change that most everywhere else, it's unthinkable.

After two years, Autodesk Maya and AutoCAD become Apple Silicon-native

Lol, I love that you fact checked that. :D I wasn't actually aware Autocad did that, I know who they are and roughly what their software does but hadn't ever noticed their naming convention till now.

All the ways the most common bit of climate misinformation is wrong

Since you quoted me, for the record: none of what you said there is true except for that first line and you are a climate troll conspiracy whatever.

GM kills more than CarPlay support, it kills choice

The only thing I really disagree with is this: Why? Is GM to Cars > Apple is to Phones? Will consumers really blame Apple for this and not solely GM? GIven Apple owners think of themselves as having the more luxury, better quality etc... brand, doesn't this subtly position GM as the same as...

Twitter posts the code it claims determines which tweets people see, and why

The servers part is besides the point imho. If you think the new user experience and ease of use of the service of Discord and Mastodon is somehow equal or very similar to each other, then I would love some of what you are smoking please. There is a lot more "issues" with Mastodon to just the...

Twitter posts the code it claims determines which tweets people see, and why

The power users being the VIP's actually was my initial presumption on seeing that. I'd need proof though that the USA party affiliations are only confirmed office holders, given Elon's take on politics. I think that code represents a general user categorisation (using AU spelling not incorrect).
