It’s cutting calories—not intermittent fasting—that drops weight, study suggests

IF is NOT about restricting calorie intake. It's about restricting how often the person eats. Eating the same amount of normal calories but in a specific window to allow glucose levels to rebalance in between feeding windows.

It’s cutting calories—not intermittent fasting—that drops weight, study suggests

I'm surprised to see so many people in the comments falling for the same old trope "calories in calories out". You'd think people that that followed a science based site would be smarter. Of course calories in calories out works in the short term. If it didn't people wouldn't have been falling...

Russian US election interference sowing discord over Ukraine kicks into gear

Can you do a post on safe apps to use for iOS and Android that won't track out every move? help finding an email app would be great.

No one needs this cryptocurrency-powered Steam Deck competitor

You guys are so tiresome and pathetic with your word vomit anti-crypto articles. if I get a cool skin in one game I want to be able to use it in other games. This is long term goal of web3 gaming, not sure why you don't want us to have that ability.

Op-ed: Charges against journalist Tim Burke are a hack job

Bad analogy. A better one would be: A person hands me a key to someone's house and says there's something in there I should see that I should report on. It's not against the law, but important for people to know. So I use that key to enter the private property and report on what's inside...

Masters of the Air is overproduced, over-CGI’d, over-color-graded Emmy bait

Took me three attempts to get through the first episode before I saw this article and gave myself permission to delete it from my queue.

Leap seconds could become leap minutes, despite pushback from Russians, Vatican

I've never understood why we don't just have the atomic clock website that resets everyday at exactly noon to adjust to any variations and people can point their databases and websites to reset at 12:01pm to whatever the atomic clock says.

Opinion: Don’t exclude AI-generated art from copyright

Photographers absolutely decide the position of the sun in their photo. Not sure that's the argument you think it is. Just like I don't get to decide the shape of my models nose but I get to decide how I want to represent that nose and where I want it to be in the frame. As a photographer for...

A water carrier just won the hardest cycling race on the planet

I don't think I've ever heard Bob Roll that audibly angry at a rider. Sounded like he wanted to jump out of the commentators box and strangle Roglic for attacking. It's also the only time I've heard him at a loss for words (probably trying his best not to curse on air).

The Daughter of the Night walks the land in this week’s Wheel of Time

What does that have to do with anything? He gave his wife the notes and asked her to find someone to finish it for him. The two are not even remotely the same. And Sanderson only made one small change to Matt that really irked me. Writing style aside, he kept the characters true to Jordan's books.

The Daughter of the Night walks the land in this week’s Wheel of Time

I don't hear anyone complaining about what's being cut, but about what's being changed. Adapting a movie is about telling teh story and keeping the characters true to themselves while cutting the dead and unnecessary fat. That's clearly not happening in this series. They shouldn't have called it...

The Daughter of the Night walks the land in this week’s Wheel of Time

That's fine but that's not what is happening here. People are making up new stuff, they're changing core stuff for no apparent reason. Why give Perrin a wife he kills? My make Abel Cauthon a wife beating drunk? There is literally no need to harden these characters prior to their journey when the...

You realize Faile is a fictional character and was written by a man...right?

The Daughter of the Night walks the land in this week’s Wheel of Time

The same way he adapted book one and gave Perrin a wife that he kills and made Matt the child of a wife beating drunkard instead of one of the most respected men in the village 🤦‍♂️

The Daughter of the Night walks the land in this week’s Wheel of Time

Long time reader of the series and I finally gave up on it half way through this episode. As a writer and artist I'm borderline insulted that another writer would completely rewrite a dead writer's work and call it by the same name. The show is abhorrent and I've deleted it from my queue :(

Rejoice: It’s 2023 and you can still buy a 22-volume paper encyclopedia

I've done zero research before posting this so take that into consideration, but I love this idea and if they gave free online (printable) updates for ten years that would be so cool. That way libraries could buy a set every ten years but have daily updates delivered for kids who need info for...

SBF says “dishonesty and unfair dealing” aren’t fraud, seeks to dismiss charges

This is the problem with people that don't understand crypto and how it works. Plenty of people live day to day and never touch a credit card. The vast majority of life can be lived with crypto now more than ever.
