In new lawsuit, Instacart shoppers say they were regularly underpaid

And every right to seek remedy in a court of law. Why are you so quick to dismiss someone's right to redress?

In new lawsuit, Instacart shoppers say they were regularly underpaid

Perhaps the terms were misrepresented at the start? It hardly would be the first time a company claims contractor status, but takes all the liberties of an employer.

In new lawsuit, Instacart shoppers say they were regularly underpaid

Really, they can't. Businesses have been taking advantage of people who don't understand capital depreciation and cost of wages earned for decades. No one need look further than "owner/operator" short-route truckers who get paid $85 an hour, but must bring their own $200,000 tractor trailer.

In new lawsuit, Instacart shoppers say they were regularly underpaid

I get that we live in an era of employment at will and widely used contractor and sub-contractor status, but there is nothing entitled about trying to feed yourself. Would you prefer people just collect welfare?

USB Killer, yours for £50, lets you easily fry almost every device

Yeah, you are probably correct. The reality is that children like this think they're just being funny and it is just another way of seeking attention and acceptance of their peers, while being completely oblivious to the consequences of their actions. You know, like a certain segment of the...

Trump appoints another net neutrality opponent to oversee FCC

That was Pence and the state of Indiana footing the bill through whatever tax deals Carrier scored. I do give props to the government though, this seems to be the first time a corporation changed course through government intervention. And which group of people thinks the government is...

Trump appoints another net neutrality opponent to oversee FCC

They won't be happy until they turn every internet connected device into a personal ad delivery and viewing mechanism fed with ads targeted from metadata gathered through every element of your life. Please don't get me started on these policy professionals setting policy in technologies they...

With Health Secretary position, Trump selects Obamacare executioner

There was a good article on AlterNet about this very thing, where people (in the context of the article, it was rural Americans) who feel they are being talked down to and as such, won't consider any fact outside of their fundamentalist views. I can't imagine a less self-serving reason to vote...

That sound is your grandparents taking your gifts back to the store.

EPA increases the amount of renewable fuel to be blended into gasoline

My objection is with the 80% of vehicles that are not supposed to be using 15% ethanol. I can absolutely guarantee that this will reduce tailpipe emissions on my model year 2008 vehicle through its premature death. And to completely offset this green gain, it will consume energy during the...

Trump says he’s going to get Apple to “build a big plant” in US

They are not going to, they will just allow the consumer to eat the tariff because everyone else will have to do the same. The only person this harms, is the middle class.

Trump says he’s going to get Apple to “build a big plant” in US

Uhm, that's because humans no longer DO that kind of work? Assembly of the finished product? Yes.

Trump’s FCC advisor wants to eliminate most of the FCC

In the face of overwhelming evidence that this administration is going to roll back rights, privileges at the same time of engaging in as much self-enrichment as possible, and THIS is your retort to that? Yes, the media is biased against him. Maybe it is because he's planning on doing...

Trump’s FCC advisor wants to eliminate most of the FCC

I am quoting you because you have salient points that I think need reiterating. Mostly the part about Obama. Except where you want to blame the media, that's getting old.

Trump’s FCC advisor wants to eliminate most of the FCC

Excellent! All we need to do is get radio waves to respect state boundaries.

Trump hires two net neutrality opponents to oversee FCC transition

Who said network neutrality was EVER about breaking up monopolies? That isn't the purpose, it has never been the purpose. Perhaps the advice of the other respondent is, uhm, salient?

Trump hires two net neutrality opponents to oversee FCC transition

How many peering disputes have you heard about since net neutrality went into effect? How many have you heard about that negatively affected the customers of Netflix, or your own online content access? Well, that isn't the fault of anyone. Understanding that network neutrality is important...

Trump: I’ll ditch TPP trade deal on day one of my presidency

Yeah, I get that about Hillary. But Hillary wasn't going to roll the country back to the 1950's in every respect including civil rights for all people and this thing that Republicans call a hoax, global climate change. The rest of the planet has figured it out, the rest of the planet (namely...

Report: Apple has broken up its AirPort team, won’t be making new routers

I started using Airport devices when I had my fill of OpenWRT and the consumer routers it ran on. I never looked back and have upgraded through 3 versions. Until this year, when I feared that this might be the fate of the product. I opted for the Ubiquity AC-Lite and it performs as well as...
