The curious rise of giant tablets on wheels

They are still being made by Sharp/NEC. Not sure if they sell an OLED though.

The curious rise of giant tablets on wheels

Sharp sells TV's like this. I demoed one late last year for a project. https://www.sharpnecdisplays.us/products/accessories/mpi4e The one I demoed had an Intel nuc installed. We ended up going with Neat boards instead.

Stung by customer losses, Comcast says all its new plans have unlimited data

I now have 2 fiber providers available at my house, both with buried lines and 0 reason to go back to Comcast ever. Had them for almost 20 years.

After losing customers, Comcast admits prices are too confusing and unpredictable

I just paid $300 on the dot for a year of service with boost mobile. No complains so far and it's a 5g network. I put my son on boost mobile a few months back at $25 and some change a month to see how he liked it. Bye bye Verizon. Same as I said in my other post about Comcast, I'll never go...

After losing customers, Comcast admits prices are too confusing and unpredictable

I was paying somewhere around $70 for 20x300 with Comcast. I'm now paying $75 for 1gb fiber and another fiber company just laid fiber in my neighborhood. There's no chance I'll ever go back to comcast. I was a customer for 23+ years. If I wanted dual Internet connections I have fiber in my back...

Ex-Twitter execs push for $200M severance as Elon Musk runs X into ground

If you ask me, I'm not shedding a tear for any of them. Screw these execs who sold out and are now crying that they don't get millions out of the deal. They lay in the bed they made. Don't forget they are still likely multi millionaires too. How many times are people pissed about these golden...

Android malware uses NFC to read payment card data, then sends it to attacker

Meanwhile I was trying to figure out a way to allow a smartphone to pass digits to a NFC reader connected to a copier to authenticate users to papercut. I quickly gave up on that. Seems that writing apps that use NFC is quite hard, at least from what I found out in my limited research.

765,000 owners still have airbags recalled in 2015; stop driving, Ford says

I keep getting letters for a 2008 Ford edge that was sold by me in 2016 to a Ford dealership, not a trade in. Some of the letters were quite aggressive with graphic images warning of death if you keep driving it without replacing the airbags. I still have a 2010 fusion that had the passenger...

Dirty diaper resold on Amazon ruined a family business, report says

Why don't they just rebrand under a new name, use the same content and images and use a name that no one can pronounce. Like Pfloenfl or Llafwlgwyg. Seems to work for other shitty sellers.

Musk’s X demands money from laid-off employees, claims they were overpaid

Ok, you're right, I did read that but it doesn't go into a lot of details. It also supports my stance though, albeit an unpopular one.

Musk’s X demands money from laid-off employees, claims they were overpaid

We're clearly talking about 2 different things. There is no expert cited in the part of the article that mentions overpayments to 7 people, not hundreds. Unless you're referring to the linked article behind a paywall, that I did not read. My stance is the same, remove X/Twitter/Elon from the...

Musk’s X demands money from laid-off employees, claims they were overpaid

Remove X and Elon from the discussion. How is it right that if the statute of limitations hasn't passed that they would get to keep the money? If this happened to you or me we wouldn't be talking about this and if the law states we have to give it back, you better believe we're going to have to...

Musk’s X demands money from laid-off employees, claims they were overpaid

I don't understand the comments about let them keep it. I understand it's a shitty situation, but if you've ever been over paid the company wants their money back. It's not yours to begin with. Hopefully anyone who spent it can make payments back, but dang, if this were any other company we...

Report: Microsoft to face antitrust case over Teams

I think it also comes down to how deeply integrated teams is in everything Microsoft while not allowing for 3rd party integrations. For example, Microsoft bookings, try integrating zoom into it. You pretty much can't as far as I can tell. Thus giving teams an advantage.

Tesla announces fourth round of layoffs in four weeks

No reason was given why there were no new models in Tesla's pipeline. But I'd say it's justified because if they are supposed to be designing new models what are they doing?

These states are basically begging you to get a heat pump

I installed a MrCool universal 4/5 ton with air handler late spring last year in 4 ton mode. Quite an experience installing the air handler in the attic. All in it was about $5000. Saved a ton of money DIY. Best decision ever though. Doesn't get that cold in Houston so it's a no brainer. It also...

BMW adds a human touch to driverless parking at CES 2024

Have fun paying for your heated seats, not doing it. Those are service, I have no problem paying for a service. Ask me to pay Samsung to use Bluetooth on my phone, ask me to pay a fee to use the additional HDMI ports on my TV. Ask me to pay for additional rense cycles on my washing machine...
