“I‘m not leaving without a gold one!” Tales from the iPhone 5S line

The winners here are definitely the guys currently avoiding asking to date her because they think she's lesbian. Look... Rare is as Apple says it is. This has been long established, any company with multibillion dolar cash banked, armed with a small plastic box, and named after a fruit, must...

Tweets contribute to charging driver with murder in fatal bike accident

A court would agree, and I'm sure Ars is flattered you put them on that level. But this is journalism. Including his father's misconduct is a short discourse on the real loss in all of this sad disaster; where did we expect this kid to learn to respect people (ideally mirrored by our created...

Bill Gates still helping known patent trolls obtain more patents

A disgusting concept. Let's all go about patenting what-ifs and digging into eachothers pockets because they put in the hard work on something you both came up with on the toilet but the other person acted on it while you just patented it? Shameful. But a smart investment.

High court bans publication of car-hacking paper

I would like to see if this line of thinking was in the final order. I'm sure it was atleast an argument presented by the companies.

Tell us what inspires you to move and you could win a fitness tracker

Self-accountability is what motivates me. I know that when I'm nearing the end of my time here I will only have myself to blame or thank for how I've spent mine and my family's years. I refuse to carry that dead weight of regret for missing out on opportunities to make my spouse, my children's...

Teen jailed for alleged “terroristic threats” on Facebook now free on bai

This. The way I read this article, the 19 yr old was hardly a threat outside of one terrible comment. I will say that a threat made over the internet is no less serious than a threat made in person. But if he yelled his same trail of statements and someone overheard would he be in the same...

US agency baffled by modern technology, destroys mice to get rid of viruses

The most disturbing part of this is trying to envision the number of people who must have known about this whole process and accepting that it took 2 years for a flag to be raised by an entirely seperate group who happened to be auditing their finances.

Badoo set to help facilitate hookups across the U.S.

There must be a study somewhere about how the marketability of such type services are locked into an acute range of personalities - those that would actually sign up for this sort of thing. Just play some MMOs while listening to Trance music. More fun, less degrading, arguably more rewarding.

Yahoo claims Facebook infringed its social networking patents

I've got a patent for that: use of paraphrased hand gestures to convey emotion... Cut it out.

To reduce piracy, RapidShare throttles download speed for free users

That's a thin and twisted veil of protection for them. All these recent filesharing takedowns have had one obvious thread: profiting from users. Throttling free is not running from that, they're more likely to actually capitalize on that change... I'm not sure how to read RapidShare's action really.

Tim Cook: Apple donated $50 million to hospitals, $50 million to Project(RED)

I would generally agree with you, and I believe you are trying to imply that publicizing such a donation is exploiting the act. But such a donation is something to be applauded. And publicizing it encourages others to also do the same. The un-confirmable suspicions are far inferior compared...

Impeach Obama for bribery? Anti-ACTA spin reaches new lows

I think I love you, Nate... This is just the latest in a string of great journalism - it's such a mental orgasm of truth I want to read it again.

US military strategy: we'll halt hackers with "cyber hygiene"

I like this, actually. I would like to think that somepart of the gov't agrees with accountability.

Congress goes after unlicensed wireless "free riders" (like Google and Microsoft)

This just reeks of bad all over. Sometimes I think blatently unconstitutional bills come to light out of sheer boredom. This idea translates roughly to: "You have money and I want it.

Crime doesn't pay? It does if you're a phone crammer

I'm not sure that could relate as waving your phone at something is essentially a signature whereas this article focuses on altogether bogus charges. I like your carrier accountability idea, but I'd rather assume just do away with the whole system. It's from an outdated era.
