Report: Apple will release a 16-inch iPad Pro

I normally stick with Samsung but I've been hanging out for a much larger tablet so any move to bring them about is ace. That said I doubt we'll ever really get rid of the desktop completely, no matter how good a touch screen is, a mouse and keyboard will always be faster.

Elon Musk completes Twitter purchase, immediately fires CEO and other execs

I feel really bad for all the people about to lose their jobs. I loath the 'algorithm god' that tech-bro's like Musk worship.

Cheaper hearing aids hit stores today, available over the counter for first time

This is crazy. America is crazy. My Nana needed hearing aids a few years ago, we talk her into a small store front, they did a hearing check, made up some custom molds for her ears, scanned her old age pension card, told her to come back in three days. We did, they handed over the brand new...

FDA’s top tobacco scientist takes job at Marlboro-maker Philip Morris

Yeah it's great, a few friends and family members have used it to quit. Unfortunately when I tried I got some pretty nasty side effects, but hey, someone always rolls snake eyes when it comes to medication I guess. What did work for me was a vape plan to taper down and quit completely.

FDA’s top tobacco scientist takes job at Marlboro-maker Philip Morris

As much as I'm against non-competes in the private sector we really need something for public officials to prevent this bullshit.

Amazon Prime Video finally gets a desperately needed redesign

Meh. The other design was functional enough. Frankly my issue is with the way features are split up over streaming services. Netflix has the 'skip intro/recap' feature that is missing on Prime, Prime has X-Ray hooking into IMDB for their newer shows which gives you trivia, commentary, and "huh I...

Cryptomining boom has people’s energy bills skyrocketing; feds mull new rules

Of course they didn't, the venn diagram of crypto-bro and libertarian d-bag is basically a circle. Everything is about their 'freedom', screw everyone else!

Twitter sues Elon Musk, says he can’t “trash the company... and walk away”

Everytime I see Musk or one his useful idiots post about how he is 'winning' this whole thing I just want to laugh. He's clearly desperate to spin this as anything other than the massive failure that it is. I hope he loses everything.

YouTube flags horror video as “for kids,” won’t let creator change rating

Interesting information and as I'd expect from google a complete ass backwards way of doing it. Instead of it being an all or nothing system where the content is shuffled into a category you'd think Youtube For Kids would be an overlay system where curated content exists on both the normal...

YouTube flags horror video as “for kids,” won’t let creator change rating

What an idiotic system here. Truly the sort 'let the algo sort it out' mentality that is endemic to tech. I mean I get using the bot to up a rating, but downgrading it? That's just plain dumb. Then again I know several fiction websites that do that themselves. I know authors who 'err on the...

North Korea’s COVID outbreak taking “favorable turn” as cases exceed 1.7M

Like I said mate, anyone not already convinced is a lost cause. Unfortunately too many them have far too much power.

North Korea’s COVID outbreak taking “favorable turn” as cases exceed 1.7M

Well this is a giant disaster. I'm tempted to say the only good thing that could possibly come from this is showing the world just what happens when a pandemic is allowed to run rampant in a population, but honestly at this point anyone not convinced already is a lost cause, so it's a pure...

A different side of time: Hulu drops trailer for The Orville: New Horizons

First Strange New Worlds hits it out of the park, and now Orville is back looking slick, it's a good year to love Sci-Fi.

Elon Musk would let Trump back on Twitter, says ban was “morally wrong”

Morally wrong and stupid? Yeah those are words I'd use to describe Trump and his supporters. I can't believe this idjit. Seriously public figures should be held to a *higher* standard than the average pleb, not a lower one!

Return to Pandora with the first teaser for Avatar: The Way of Water

Avatar was the first, and to date only, movie I've seen in 3D for the simple reason I discovered that 3D is shite. 1) I'm of the huge percentage of the population who wears glasses all the time, so wearing glasses over glasses? Not fun. 2) 3D gives me migraines. Not a headache, I know the...

Return to Pandora with the first teaser for Avatar: The Way of Water

I've been seeing this trailer being posted everywhere but all I feel is "meh". The first movie was a technical showcase and had the plot of just such a showcase, that is a terrible cliché one. Without the wow factor of the CGI, which is everywhere now, I don't see any reason to bother with this.

Musk’s foreign investors may trigger national security review of Twitter deal

No. I don't support companies that use slave labour.

Musk’s foreign investors may trigger national security review of Twitter deal

Ahh Yes Musk is allllllllllll about the Free Speech isn't he, what with taking money from some of the most repressive nations on the freaking planet. What a true believer... Gag me with a sock.

Warzone dev says game is losing players over “insane” download sizes

I balk at games wanting me to download 50gb, let alone 250gb. I've got the best download speed I can get in my part of rural Australia and it's still hours and hours while no-one else can use the 'net for anything else. Developers really need to optimize more.
