Q1 earnings: Apple sees a sales slip in China, worrying investors

Is it crazy though? The implication here is that the asking price greatly exceeds the amount of value and utility the product provides. From all of the downvotes, it seems that many folks disagree with that assessment.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 review: More like a 4080 Super Super

I too got a 3090 FE during the COVID metagame of "can I grab this super difficult to get item in a super tiny window". With Best Buy's 10% off birthday coupon (which they no longer do), I actually got it at $1350, which was a steal given the heavily inflated prices of the 3080s at the time...

The Backbone One would be an ideal game controller—if the iPhone had more games

Ah ok, didn't realize there are multiple different versions of the G8. From your description, it sounds like the Abxylute S9 is a combination of several features from both the G8 Plus and G8 Galileo (USB-C, BT, long device support, rumble, 6-axis gyro, pass through charging, headphone jack etc)...

The Backbone One would be an ideal game controller—if the iPhone had more games

I had a Backbone One for a while until iPhone went to USB-C. I got a cheapie EasySMX M10 after seeing it in a booth at CES. It's... serviceable. More recently, I got the new Abxylute S9, which is basically a better Gamesir G8 (comparison starts at the 3 minute mark): View...

It’s Star Wars Day and we have a new trailer for The Acolyte to celebrate

I wonder if it’s from people who haven’t watched any Clone Wars or Rebels? Ashoka is my favorite SW character, and I suspect I’m not alone.

When will we see an electric BMW M car? We speak to its boss to find out

Wait, what?? Are you even listening to yourself? You are really comparing sports car makers moving away from ICE to the extinction of humanity? Before you call me an ICE hater, my last ICE car was a 6MT NA V10, with a Capristo exhaust system. I loved it when I had it. But times have moved on...

Hyundai recalls 1.6 million gas-powered cars due to potential car fires

This issue sounds very similar to a brand new recall for my Kia Niro PHEV. So new that they don’t even have a fix yet. It sounded similar enough (fluid leakage causing electrical short leading to engine bay fire) made me go hmmmmm 🤔. Details here...

Things get serious this week in a really solid The Wheel of Time episode

Maybe someone can explain to a non-booker reader what “saa” is in a non-spoiler fashion?

I feel like that describes a good portion of the Ars denizens :biggreen:

Andrew and Lee jump into Wheel of Time season two’s 3-episode blowout premiere

Completely agree. The Expanse is probably my favorite Sci-Fi book series ever. I'm sad that they won't be making books 7-9 into the show :(

BMW’s Neue Klasse points to a radical reinvention for future sedans

Texas Tesla driver here. I have every glass surface covered with ceramic tint with high heat rejection, and the front windshield covered with non-tinted heat rejection film. I had originally left the top glass alone since it came pre-tinted from factory, but later added tint to it after still...

Andrew and Lee jump into Wheel of Time season two’s 3-episode blowout premiere

Reading the comments here reminds me what an interesting microcosm the Ars crowd is. I’m not not a WoT book reader, but I am a big fantasy reader (I’m also a big Sanderson fan and have read nearly every one of his non-WoT books from the last couple of decades). As such, I don’t have any...

CDPR’s game engine transition means no more Cyberpunk 2077 DLC

Honestly it was mostly the last gen consoles that had the most issues. I played it at launch on PC. While it had a few minor bugs, overall it worked pretty well. I can only imagine the bugs would be ironed out by now.

Released: Command execution exploit for Netgear Orbi routers. Are you patched?

Anyone having issues manually updating their RBS50? When I upload the new firmware file (RBS50-V2.7.5.4.zip) to the RBS50 on its own firmware update page, I get an error message: Tried downloading the firmware files again, and tried uploading multiple times. Same results.
