Gamers react with overwhelming disgust to DLSS 5’s generative AI glow-ups

The on version looks more realistic and lifelike. Hopefully this will finally make Minecraft playable.

thanks! Was great to scroll down and see the return of the God Box! Tempted to build one just to celebrate the occasion.

As Internet enshittification marches on, here are some of the worst offenders

The failure of the internets promise only serves to prove the danger of unregulated capitalism.

How Doom: The Dark Ages draws from the ’90s Doom games

Thanks the Gods! Just hope we don’t have to load up the old IPX/SPX stack for multi player like back in the day

New York starts enforcing $15 broadband law that ISPs tried to kill

Maybe if the major ISPs were not working so hard to block competition this type of price regulation wouldn't be needed. Greedy should not be allowed to become a family value.

Michelle Yeoh is ready to get messy in Star Trek: Section 31 trailer

I am eagerly anticipating the movie and the progression of its storyline. As an almost OG fan who has recently rewatched (is rebinged a word) TOS, TNG, Voyager, and even DS9, I can sincerely state that this is the one I have anticipated the most since TNG and VOY first aired. I don't need to...

Chick-fil-A cooking up new “family-friendly” video streaming service

While they have some decent food and service I kind of hope they include a Russian vocal track. Putin grants conservatives sanctuary.

Why Americans aren’t buying more EVs

While I’m a fan of concepts like an open world economy and cheap products from the East, China has definitely been using their production strengths to work against us and other western democracies for about the last fifteen years. I for one would rather pay the ‘real’ cost of goods than to...

Apple’s next product event happens on May 7, and it’s probably iPads

An iPad refresh would be great but I would really hope to hear of a new Apple TV. The current latest version takes to long to power on and the latest remote could use some refinements too. Like the touch sensor is activated and scrolls when I’m just trying to press the button to skip opening scenes.

AT&T outage leaves more than 70,000 phones without service

Saw some folks were reporting back up so I toggled carrier auto select (where AT&T options is on a good day) and service came back after a minute or two of the spinning donut of death.

George Carlin’s heirs sue comedy podcast over “AI-generated” impression

As a big fan of Mr. Carlin I was pleased to see him again but finished it a bit concerned about the disregard of respecting his legacy and its impact on surviving family. Not sure if the legal case is the answer needed but it’s likely the only way to address long term issues with AI bringing...

Wi-Fi 7 will use even more of the 6 GHz band for faster streaming, lower latency

Sort of… Vendors were and maybe still are selling 6e cable to show that it exceeded the stats of a cat 6 cable. The problem with using that term is you would need to check with each vendor to figure out what specifically they rate their 6e cables to because it’s not industry standard.

ULA’s Vulcan rocket shot for the Moon on debut launch—and hit a bullseye

Hopefully the window to fix the issue is longer then the time needed to develop one.

Doom’s creators reminisce about “as close to a perfect game as anything we made”

I remember playing dual player over a modem using an IPX stack on my 486 DX50 system. Great frag and geek fest memories! Thanks John and team!

Homey Pro review: A very particular set of home automation skills

Can I get it to lift and close a toilet seat? Would totally map this to the WatchOS finger tapping function.

The Milky Way will probably devour all the tiny galaxies that surround it

Where do these pending mergers fit in with the pending formation of Milkomeda. Maybe putting on a little weight before our wrestling match with Andromeda would help.

Apple plans mental health-focused journaling app for iOS 17

Heck, I'm still mad at Bill Gates for incorporating an IP stack into his OS. Playing Doom over IPX/SPX rocked... If only the internet didn't need routing tables

Review: Intel’s “Raptor Canyon” NUC is a compact gaming PC without the stress

Wish you guys would bring back the box builds. I loved reading about the build strategies. Especially the god box…when money grew on trees. Now days the sites that still have them are so overloaded with ads the content doesn’t load right.
