AMD will bring its “Ryzen AI” processors to standard desktop PCs for the first time

Found my answer. https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-ryzen-ai-400-does-not-support-radeon-rx-9000-gpus-at-full-pcie-speed PCI-E connectivity has somehow gotten worse overall. The 450/440G can use 12 lanes total, while the 435G has to make due with just 10. The 8700/8600G at least got 16 lanes and...

AMD will bring its “Ryzen AI” processors to standard desktop PCs for the first time

"These Ryzen AI 400-series CPUs are direct replacements for the Ryzen 8000G processors" Anyone know if these chips have cut down PCI-E connectivity like the 8000G series? x8 4.0 only to the graphics card slot isn't great.

Intel launches Core Ultra Series 3 CPUs, made using its long-awaited 18A process

That obfuscation of "Total Cores and Threads" on their marketing material is doing some heavy lifting. In 2026 we could see top of the line Intel machines with four (p) cores and 8 GB of ram, its like Skylake never left.

Ugly infotainment mars the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid experience

The Prelude's too expensive for what it is. When a GR Corolla has the same tariff and starts $4k cheaper, the tariff isn't the only problem. Tariffs on materials and components aside, Subaru is in decent shape for "assembled in America" vehicles. US market Outback, Ascent, some Crosstrek...

Ugly infotainment mars the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid experience

I am genuinely shocked that Subaru hasn't attempted anything to fix their current infotainment system. Aside from the annoyance of putting HVAC controls on a touch screen the system is just plain slow. Its been around since sometime in 2019 and its been terrible the whole time.

It’s back! The 2027 Chevy Bolt gets an all-new LFP battery, but what else?

I heard about the regenerative brake paddle being removed on the Alex on Autos/Auto Buyer's guide Bolt video.

    At least its not CHAdeMO.

Acura unveils next RDX crossover—will feature ASIMO OS

How about RSX Mach E? (Also there is a errant RDX in the last paragraph.)

    Fire TV Being Weird.

I currently use a mix of Roku (4k Stick), Google TV (Onn 4k puck), and Fire TV (4k Stick) and Fire is the flakiest by far. It just has the tendency to lock up and require a restart. It may not be a software issue, I suppose it could be a thermal issue or a memory issue since these things never...

    Mazda’s third-gen CX-5 SUV on sale in 2026, hybrid comes in 2027

Wired: Rejoice! Carmakers Are Embracing Physical Buttons Again Hated enough that car makers are going back to buttons.

    Mazda’s third-gen CX-5 SUV on sale in 2026, hybrid comes in 2027

I've seen elsewhere that the giant touch screen in the press photos is the optional one. I'm hopeful that lower trims with the smaller touchscreen will get physical climate controls. They ditched the rotary control because too many people found it strange and unintuitive. Valid or not Mazda...

Stung by customer losses, Comcast says all its new plans have unlimited data

But do you have unlimited data? I just checked for a contract plan and they say you get the Xfinity gateway and unlimited data ... and that is typically a bundled offer. It is a single bullet point not two. I also noticed that they offer no speeds other than 1GB and 1.2GB. I dropped down to...

Stung by customer losses, Comcast says all its new plans have unlimited data

Like many of Comcast's unlimited data promotions you have to use their modem. Leasing hardware from them isn't worth it.

Trump’s FTC announces merger condition that prohibits advertising boycotts

So the same people that championed Citizen United are now saying money isn't speech. Also somehow "Corporations are people" but don't have freedom of association, because who in their right mind would want to be associated with Musk.

Everything we know about the 2026 Nissan Leaf

Between the Nissan death watch and the previous Leaf's claim to fame being that it was really cheap used/off lease, no one should buy the new Leaf. If Nissan (in some form) is still around in three years, it might be a good pickup. The Honda merger failed but personally Toyota-Datsun has a...

2025 Acura ADX review: A crossover that balances budget with spirit

There was a time when the Honda V6's were notorious for burning oil.

2025 Acura ADX review: A crossover that balances budget with spirit

It's called a compact crossover (CRV/RAV4 size class rather than the subcompact HRV) in the article and I thought it was a mistake. Sure enough this thing is like 1.5" shorter than the (also) compact RDX, the same length as a Mazda CX-50, an inch longer than the CRV and about 5" longer than the...

Here are the ways the US space program dies if Trump cancels SpaceX contracts

They're both terrible people and I have no problems with them turning on each other. But the question "What would happen if Trump retaliated against Musk's companies" really raises a better question for me. Will anyone in power try to stop Trump's retaliation to first amendment protected...

Safely cleaning tape goo off Thinkpads

I've used Krud Kutter to clean adhesive residue in the past. The regular formula is fairly mild so it might take a couple of applications. They also make a specific Krud Kutter Adhesive remover that I have not tried, but it is water based unlike Goo Gone which is solvent* based. *without...

Microsoft raises prices on Xbox hardware, says “some” holiday games will be $80

Price hike on 5 year old hardware with the smallest install base. I assume this is to maintain the same pre-tariff profit margin, but if dramatic price increases are going to be industry standard I wonder how many converts they could get if they had lower profit margins ... for at least a little...
