    TowerFall Ascension review: Bow knows

Yes. Yes it is. My kids were able to get the game after one round. The mechanics are simple enough for anyone to pick up and play and competitive enough to have a whole lot of fun killing 3 other people repeatedly.

<i>New Super Mario Bros U</i> Review: The best 2D Mario in decades

Then buy a WiiU now, get this game, get Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess and a myriad of other great games that came out on the Wii to tide you over till those "good" games come out on the WiiU. The WiiU is backward compatible.

Researchers turn lights into world's fastest wireless with Li-Fi

"it only works within line of sight" That is also its greatest weakness. For a person who is moving from place to place, it is even more possible that the signal will be lost than with normal Wi-Fi. Still a cool idea and I would hope that it could become successful.

Win a free Nintendo 3DS XL in our sweepstakes

I still have an original Game Boy. I also have a DSLite. Both of which I still play from time to time. Of course my Android phone is taking mobile gaming time away from those too. But I could still fit a new handheld into my life.

Op-ed: Blocking used games unlikely to kill the console game market

That's what the Pirate Bay is for. That is why Warez sites exist. People will not just let these games die. While the companies won't care if the game lives or dies, the fans do.

<i>Binding of Isaac</i> creator: Nintendo rejection shows internal divisions over com

Based on my quick search online, the 3DS has parental controls. With this, you can restrict the games someone can play based on rating as well as locking them out of the eShop. I cannot tell for sure if the parental controls have the ability to allow for purchasing or downloading content based...

Game makers face uphill battle proving copyright infringement in court

Is the fashion industry hurting for talent and money? They don't have any IP protection at all. They don't have patents. They don't have copyrights. They have Trademark, but that is a wholly different story. The games industry needs no more protection than it currently has. It is doing fine...

Oklahoma lawmaker proposes tax on "violent" video games (and <i>Ultimate Card Games</

He is a member of the Oklahoma State House. Their terms are two years. All reps are up for reelection in every even year. So yeah, he is up for reelection.

Firefox 10 arrives with new dev tools and full-screen API

Crap. This means that Ubuntu will be even slower to update Firefox now. I honestly can't see them not jumping onto the long term support version with all the proprietary crap they load into Firefox.

Judge dismisses "Other OS" class-action suit against Sony

That in no way answers my question. They could have fulfilled their obligation by plugging what ever hole GaoHotz was targeting.

Judge dismisses "Other OS" class-action suit against Sony

If the problem was that people were using the Other OS feature for nefarious purposes (which if you have any sources on that, I would be grateful) Wouldn't it have been more prudent to have simply patched the problem out of Other OS rather than cut it completely? It seems more like curing an...

How California can hit its mid-century emissions reduction goals

So basically they need to rebuild the entire state's energy infrastructure to reach its goals? That sounds like sound business sense. Not to mention all the businesses that will be going out of business or moving out of the states due to the insane financial burden this goal puts on them.

"Occupy Flash" campaign urges users to uninstall Adobe Flash plugin

This is exactly how I run my browser. I hate flash ads but love flash games. AdBlock+ let's me avoid the ads while still playing games. When HTML5 can run games as well as Flash, I will be all for getting rid of it completely.

GameStop opening <em>Deus Ex</em> boxes, removing free game code

Not a bad idea. Sell them for a few dollars and make some extra game money. Not that I am condoning such a practice. ;)

GameStop opening <em>Deus Ex</em> boxes, removing free game code

This is flat out disgusting. How can they possibly expect to not get a severe backlash from both consumers and game publishers from this? What the crap were they thinking?

PC indie adventure <em>To The Moon</em> tackles death with a touch of humor

Why would that be a problem? It is an adventure game not an RPG. You don't go around fighting monsters. You go around solving puzzles and mysteries.

Judge says domain name loss is not a "substantial hardship"

How can this ruling stand? In the internet age, taking the domain name of a website, even if for a single market country, is like forcing the closing of a retail store. Just because I have 10 more stores scattered around the country/world does not mean that the closing of one of them is not a...

3DS drops to $169.99 in August, early adopters given free games

People may not want some of the game provided, but at least they are all top tier games rather than some rinky dink games that Nintendo is trying to pawn off. Plus, if they are all valued at $5 in the eShop, that comes to $100 worth of free games. That more than makes up the difference from the...

North Carolina governor refuses to block anti-muni broadband law

Very much so. She might as well have said, "I am not in the position to tick off either side of this debate. On one hand we have the people who elected me and me signing this will result in loss of votes come next election. On the other hand, if I veto this, I will lose campaign contributions...
