Review: Sony’s VAIO Flip 13 dies the death of a thousand cuts

The Surface Pro is a good unit. Solidly built, nice features and easy to use. Battery power being my only real issue with it, that could be better. The PRO 2 looks to have fixed that feature and the back lighting on the new keyboards are a nice addition. I think my only complaint about the PRO...

Third Windows Phone update supports 1080p screens, quad-core CPUs

Not seeing the problem. I also bought a Windows 7 phone and it has worked well. In January I'll replace it with a new Windows 8 phone due to how well I've enjoyed it. Your phone worked fine or is still working fine, I know mine is. You replace these devices every couple years, I don't see your...

Apple updates iMacs: Haswell, PCIe SSD, and 802.11ac

That's part of my problem as well. No Blu-ray or CD/DvD drive built in? A mobile gpu chip in a desk top? Why bother to go with an iMac? Get their laptop instead. Also like the one guy who got down graded I do like to upgrade parts. Nothing major these days, but I do end up replacing the gpu's at...

We’ll be liveblogging Microsoft’s Monday morning Surface 2 event

Looks like some really nice improvements to the Surface Pro 2. We've had the first Surface Pro since it's release and over all have really enjoyed it. About the only issue I have is the battery, and it looks like that is being fixed. I like the Surface Pro and think it's a well made, solid unit...

“I‘m not leaving without a gold one!” Tales from the iPhone 5S line

If you are talking about Spokane, I gotta say I'm amused. 200,000 people spread over an area with a population density of around 3,500 per square mile. Yeah not high on Apples list of population hot spots. As a side note I honestly rather gnaw my own hand off then stand in any line. I out grew...

Review: Garmin HUD is sharp, functional, pricey

As I watched the video I found myself chuckling as I recognized the music from Conan the Barbarian. Well played Lee. lol. Oh and get your oil changed man! :) More on topic, it is a good idea but it seems like there is a lot of room for improvement. I didn't feel that the price was outrageous...

Obama administration comes out swinging against patent trolls

To bad the Republican controlled congress will make sure none of these things do happen and the Republicans in the Senate will play the ole Fillibuster game. <sigh> I also don't always agree with everything Obama has done or said. That said it would be nice of the other side would stop blocking...

The secret to online safety: Lies, random characters, and a password manager

I've been using Dashlane for the past couple months. I really like it so far, but what I don't like is the interaction I have with the company, or lack of interaction I should say. They don't have a forums and they don't respond to my rather simple question. "Are you all working on a Windows...

Doctors save baby’s life with 3D-printed tracheal implant

Wow, you are getting down voted for posting the very same thing I was going to post. Unless these guys are down voting you for 3d pizza? This was an awesome use of 3d printing as you said a positive use, saving a life.

Prenda blows sanctions deadline, ordered to pay an extra $1,000 per day

This is my deepest wish as well. I'm hoping it will become "the case" that other judges and prosecutors use against future assclowns like this.

Xbox One packs a Blu-ray drive, 8GB of RAM, and lots of buzzwords

He got fired for a lack of diplomatic skills in my opinion. Not for stating a truth.

Xbox One packs a Blu-ray drive, 8GB of RAM, and lots of buzzwords

I find it hard to believe that in fifteen years of working IT he'd never heard APU. I guess maybe he worked at an IT help desk directing calls to actual IT personal? APU as a term has been around over half the time he has been working in IT.

Video: Reboots that need the boot, part 2—SimCity

Watched the first eight minutes or so and yeah the audio sounds a bit better. Honestly like most here though I really like your write ups or I should say I prefer them. I'm just not a big fan of audio reviews/articles over all. I don't watch many pod casts of any type myself.

Google wants your WordPress blog—and everything else—in its cloud

I'm kinda finding myself growing tired of Google and other companies trying to be my "everything". Looking at Google in "this" instance, seems they are trying to dip into every aspect of computing/information services. We know how that worked out in the past with other companies.

Aaron Swartz prosecutors must unseal evidence, but won’t name names

I have no issue with them pursuing justice in an ethical manner but I am not a fan of how they like to stack charges and force someone to settle. That is not justice that is bullshit. I truly hate how our justice system works in that respect. It's not justice it's forcing people to plea guilty.

The British ‘Atlantis’ is mapped in detail

Also not mentioned in the report that I just finished reading. 134 pages of mostly very interesting stuff, the link is in the article above which I decided to read through since the article above is so light on substance. I assume the writer was trying to sensationalize a bit to draw a readers...

Ars Technica System Guide: Gaming Boxes

I decided to avoid the 690s on my system. I knew that if I added a second card later on I'd most likely be facing even bigger micro stutter issues with quad gpu's that running two 690s might cause. I'd rather run two Titans if I had to add a second gpu later on. Really happy with the Titan so...
