if we switch to the electricity companies hourly pricing, getting more miles charged in the cheapest windows may be nice.

the Bolt EUV came with a charger (well, pedantically, an EVSE), but I don't recall seeing any branding on it. In other EVSE news, installed my 48amp OpenEVSE yesterday (and then turned it down to 40amp on the current 50amp circuit while I wait to schedule an electrician to do the 60amp work)

installed (via docker) home assistant, an mqtt server, and onstar2mqtt, so I can have the EUV preheat/precool based on a schedule (with a requirement that its plugged in & at home), and now potentially do some more fun logging stuff. i'll also hopefully be able to integrate the solar panels...

got my email for the 'free' qmerit outlet install included w/ purchase of the Bolt EUV, so hopefully we'll have something installed by the end of next week so we can start doing level 2 charging at home (not that we've had an issue getting the car back to 100% overnight on level 1 with our...

I considered the MX, but got the CX, as that was specifically called out on the ABRP page (it was an amazon purchase, so if there's a compelling reason to use the MX over the CX I can always return & repurchase). No, the ICE isn't a trade-in, we've just been juggling a single car since late last...

My ~150 mile estimate was off a bit, google maps is giving us a 167 mile 'fastest' route in our ICE vehicle, but that's on state highways that do not appear to have any fast chargers, so our return trip will need to take a longer route that goes along the interstates. The number of fast charge...

got a call from a dealership ~150 miles away that a customer backed out of their Bolt EUV Premier order with the car on the lot, so I put down a deposit, and the family will road trip down to pick it up tomorrow. Because of the cold temperatures, it appears it will need at least 1 DC fast charge...

if you can control them from the printer's board itself, you could add something in your slicer's block of start gcode/end gcode to turn them on & off, but if your board doesn't have headers for that, then yeah, smart switch of some kind via scripts in octopi

A friend backed it, he will probably start it solo, but my gaming time is pretty limited (the joy of having a 3yo child) so I won't try it until I finish the campaign game of ISS Vanguard I started with him last year.

Since most manufacturers are building on 'platforms' at this point, would there be value in repurposing the old fully assembled battery module (in bulk) as grid storage? Since the in/out/coolant/etc would be fairly standard for multiple years worth of a manufacturers vehicles, no need to strip...

I've contacted 25 chevy dealers so far today (20 have gotten back to me), and have another 15 to contact, and then tomorrow I'm going to contact 25+ more 'down state' since there is hopefully less demand down there. Still trying to find an EUV Premiere before the end of January. edit: i've...

also related the fume extraction discussion, after you're done cutting/engraving something, don't immediately pop the lid to check on it, let the fume extraction run for another 60-300 seconds to make sure you've removed as much of the fumes as possible.
