I just got a Kata R-103 last week and used it for the first time today. It's fantastic. The R-102 (same thing, minus a spot for a laptop) sells for $150 on Amazon.

My LaserJet 1300 has recently started printing extra junk on the page. Black dots, streaks, etc. The text seems to be reprinted very faintly about 2 inches below where it should be. Here's an example. Does anyone know what might be causing this and/or what parts might need replacing?

I tag just enough stuff so that I can find what I want quickly in either iTunes or on my iPod. Setting genre is the biggest win for me. It may not be accurate, but as long as I remember what went where, it doesn't matter.

I'm on a quest to replace my dad's 30 year old Canon camera and accessories. So far I've got a Nikon D50, 18-55 kit lens, and a 50/1.8. I want to get a wide-angle lens now, equivalent to the 28/2.8 that my dad had. Are there any other lenses besides this one that I should be looking at? Also...

I read somewhere that a 50mm lens on a dSLR doesn't really give you 50mm because the image coming in covers an area larger than the sensor. It would be more like 75mm. Is this true? Does the same thing happen with 35mm cameras? Thanks.
