Ukraine airliner that crashed in Iran likely shot down, US officials say

If Iranian officials were concerned about more attacks from the US and that concern led to someone being trigger happy then is not Trump responsible for this? Just as he was responsible for deaths along the Turkey border when he pulled troops out unexpectedly.

This Nissan concept is next year’s electric alternative to the Rogue SUV

Regarding the SUV bashing, the difference a low profile streamlined vehicle would make in city driving probably isn't worth the effort to measure it. Far more effective to restrict acceleration and top speed if we are going to get serious about combating climate change.

The FTC’s 2020 COPPA rules have YouTube creators scared

In general reducing the incentives to create stuff for kids, potentially reduces the number of hours kids spend watching the content. That can only be good for the kids and the environment (i.e. server farms streaming content) and frees up these content creators to do something useful.

Six cars that could prevent you from hitting a pedestrian

Soon we won't need crosswalks, pedestrians can just wander wherever they want and all the cars will just stop for them.

Verizon’s 5G network isn’t good enough to cover an entire NFL stadium

Maybe 5G users will be like iPhone users, however, instead of being clustered around the nearest power outlet, they will be hovering around exclusive 5G hot-spots.

Trump wants to import drugs from Canada. Canadians are furious

Scared that he will get labelled as socialist. The first step is to stop labeling stuff as liberal, left, conservative, right, socialist, etc. Then maybe Republicans could start implementing things that are just good ideas. Or take the opportunity to do it even better than other countries.

Review: iZombie sets up strong fifth season, then whiffs the series finale

My guess is that it is nearly impossible to drag out a story over 5 seasons and have a meaningful ending. You see the same thing in any tv show where they tantalize a secret for months if not years and by the time of the big reveal it is always anti-climactic. There are a number of reasons for...

The Orville’s S2 finale epitomizes all that’s great about this series

The dialog hasn't improved, very immature and awkward. Some choice lines from this season: "turn on the hose" referring to coating the ship in ice which apparently can hide the ship from advanced alien technology and "I'm going out for a drive" referring to the captain circling the ship in order...

Researchers trick Tesla Autopilot into steering into oncoming traffic

I can trick a human driver into doing the same thing by driving in front of them and shining a laser into their eyes. My 800 page report will be forthcoming.

Hayabusa2 touches down on asteroid, shoots it

Look at the picture, those shadows are all wrong, plus I can see the Disney lighting technician hiding behind one of the rocks.

NASA emphasizing “speed” in its return to the Moon

Also, speed like in Armageddon where the spaceship zooms up to to the space station and hits the brakes and docks in like 10 seconds instead of taking hours to slowly approach. We need better space ships that can do that.

A new Ghostbusters film is in the works, set in the original universe

"Murray had a small role in the 2016 reboot, along with cameos by Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts" They all had cameos. Dan Ackroyd was a cab driver and Ernie Hudson was the uncle.

The Orville blends science fiction and science fact into a winning mix

After watching the 1st episode of season 2 the same problems exist. Maybe somebody writes the scripts and then Seth McFarlane adds in the bad jokes. Hard to explain the poor writing away. The two lead characters have no chemistry and Seth McFarlane can barely act. Its hard to watch when you are...

Satya Nadella: The cloud is going to move underwater

50% of the population may live near the water but 100% of the population lives near something we call land. Or, using that logic, all server farms should float in the air because guess why ...

New animated Star Trek will bring Starfleet’s least vital ships to CBS streaming

"where no Trek has gone before—comedy" ... this includes "The Orville" which is definitely not funny unless you really enjoy your comedy pre-owned and badly done.

Pixel 3 XL Review—Great software, but Google just isn’t a hardware leader

I think one problem is the reviews often don't get updated while the phones do get updated to fix glaring initial issues. I've heard that particular issue was indeed fixed.

Star Wars: Episode IX will star Carrie Fisher as Leia, using older footage

And the random incoherent dialog that has nothing to do with the current movie will be explained how? Maybe Sarah Huckabee Sanders will make an appearance.

Uber self-driving car hits and kills pedestrian

Just because the camera can't see the person until they exit the shadow, shouldn't the LIDAR tech have been able to see the person in pitch black?

Uber self-driving car hits and kills pedestrian

That doesn't make sense. You can't use stats to make a conclusion on the first occurrence. It may take on average 36 rolls to roll snake eyes. But it can also be done in one and then 36 more rolls for the next.
