Ötzi the Iceman’s last meal shows how Copper Age people ate on the run

I'd argue it's more misplaced to think that ancient man was incapable of making mistakes. While we may know what he ate or what he interacted with, we don't know the circumstances completely, but to assume that ancient man couldn't make a mistake because they were "well versed in plants...", is...

How drones, sensors, and low-power wireless are saving rhinos from poachers

I actually work for a company in the IoT market and this is the kind of stuff I love. I remember a TED talk too about how someone was using spare cell phones in rainforests to detect those that are chopping down trees and affecting the local ecosystem, by detecting certain things like chainsaw...

Razer slims down Blade, debuts macOS-compatible eGPU enclosure

Here's how I see it. When you're passionate about something you generally want to do something that enhances your experience or make it more fun. Like with cars for instance. Maybe having a neat steering wheel cover or a nice custom sound system in your car is something that enhances your car...

Valve will soon let you stream Steam games to phones and tablets

I love how the image in the header is still using the Nexus S. Good times :3

Monkey-selfie lawsuit finally ends: Court affirms adorable macaque can’t sue

I think I speak for many when I say, "F*** PETA!"

That makes a lot of sense then. Thank you ^_^

13,000-year-old human footprints discovered in British Columbia

I love this kind of stuff but I always wonder how certain areas go untouched or undisturbed enough to gather this kind of archeological data. I'm not doubting the process or findings but it's fascinating how something can be preserved or undiscovered for so long. Absolutely awesome.

Video: The secrets of our first screen names

My first was Spartus, because I saw a fax machine with the name and thought it sounded like a spartan and was super cool. Then I was Gingen. I was eating gingersnap cookies. Currently Guildmarm I use everywhere. Huge obsessive fan of Monster Hunter. In 4 Ultimate my hunting group recognized...

Google starts blocking “uncertified” Android devices from logging in

Sounds like a move that's very aware of their users. I'm glad that this hasn't completely cut off custom ROM users while trying to crack down on those actually trying to steal. We'll see how things go I suppose.

Parents of children with autism may be more likely to believe vaccine myths

Additionally, can we just make it mandatory to have all vaccines? Just prevent kids from attending school until their vaccines are met (with the exception of those who are medically unable. Religion is not a good enough excuse). If I had a kid with a compromised immune system, I wouldn't want...

Parents of children with autism may be more likely to believe vaccine myths

Ah the classic "Burden of Proof" fallacy. ie. "This is true until proven otherwise". I'm sorry but that's not how things work in reality. If you make a claim you better be prepared to back it up with facts and proof, especially when you make a claim so all encompassing as the above. People are...

Key piece of the article. "...Correlation -not causation-"

Review: Buick aims high, falls short with $60,000 Enclave Avenir

With regards to the gas milage difference, I'd chalk it up to not only breaking later (as someone mentioned) but also coasting. With more experience in driving I've found myself over the years just knowing that feeling of when I can just coast to slow down a bit rather than hit the breaks and...

Sexting is on the rise among teens: ~27% get nudes, other racy messages

I'm assuming it means that the quality and results of the study were very conclusive and provided adequate data, leaving very little to be speculated. It could also pertain to who is performing the study. I'm not a researcher though so I could be completely wrong.

Judge slaps down Disney effort to stop resale of Star Wars download codes

The thing is, now they force you to use the codes to use their online service. While it IS the teacher doing it, it is rather scummy to start forcing 400 dollar text book codes for a fully online textbook. That's more what I'm referring to rather than the add on code for whatever application...

Judge slaps down Disney effort to stop resale of Star Wars download codes

I wonder if this would affect College Textbooks as well. Now days they all include an "Access Code" that basically forces a student into buying a 400 dollar book brand new rather than cheaper via second hand.

Valve bans developer after employees leave fake user reviews

Coerces employees to leave positive reviews to not "cost jobs". Gets banned potentially costing jobs. Well done. Wonder how that foot feels after that bullet went through it.
