    Magic the Gathering: Arena

I don't know how to play against bad players on bad decks, apparently. Had opponent on 9 Lives/Solemnity dead to rights if I bounced their Solemnity with Ottawa then cast the burn spell after they no-blocked. Instead I did that in the other order and, well, died. Multiple Wizards players in the...

Borderlands... the movie (trailer in OP)

I mean, age isn't really my issue. I just don't see Cate Blanchett as embodying the same kind of character as Lilith is shown to be. Perhaps, BL3's salty and a bit angry Lilith but definitely not the snarky, burninate your face and enjoy doing it, Lilith of BL1 and 2. She might be great in the...

    Magic the Gathering: Arena

The positive is that I don't think they'd ever use just a letter like Clue for any regular set so it's probably not a huge loss. But, yeah, I don't know why the whole PIPBoy face isn't colored in rather than just a halo. It looks simultaneously busy and unreadable (just as bad as LCI's set raritys).

    Magic the Gathering: Arena

I probably could have gone back to the control well I went to for the MKM midweek last week and just rerun the deck with Wrath + Surgical Extraction but I did dinos and went 3:1. I forget what I lost to but it wasn't Slimes. They kept trading or just plain got overrun by dinos. Whodathunk that a...

Borderlands... the movie (trailer in OP)

I have no hopes. Not a Kevin TryTooHard Hart fan and Cate Blanchett's amazing but not the kind of personality for the character of Lilith. In the trailer her parts felt like a "Hello Fellow Kids" version of Lilith. Kevin Hart's gonna be Kevin Hart and not Roland which is...fine. I never...

I tried to jump back into JRPGs with FFVII Rebirth, and that was a big mistake

Using 7th Heaven the PC version of FF7 can be made to look very good. It's still, obviously, a PC port of a PS1 game released in 1997 but it ends up hewing closer to the latter visuals than one might think. I've replayed it a number of times over the years (most recently around 2015) and still...

The Public Accountability Weight Loss Thread ™️

I know the feeling. I've had the cookies at work being a big problem for me as have been Tuesdays at the bar with the guys ($3 draft night). Talking with my trainer it became clear that I needed to work on a period of abstinence from these so that I can get back into weight loss and have a point...

    Baldur's Gate 3

Agreed. And, normally, you can make an entire story around discovering the information that would probably be well-known to an Epic Level character, finding one and convincing them to assist. It's just that in BG3 they made all but the last part of that trivial since Gale (at the very least)...

    Baldur's Gate 3

$$$ But if we're going story wise then it's still an in-universe problem because the concept and the spell exists. If she's on a time clock then perhaps her time would be better spent trying to convince her friend Gale to convince his friend Elminster (you know, the oldest and most powerful...

I need to know if you like steak

Steak is fine. I'd rather just about anything else with various other things than it though. Give me some pork that's been slow cooked or a pork belly roasted or braised. Give me chicken with all kinds of veggies and stuffs around it. A very nice piece of steak, occaisionally, is nice but I...

My God, it's full of Starfield...

Let's be honest here: it's Bethesda's Agent AI* we're talking about here. You'd stick a target into your brig then, a few hours later, they'd get hungry so they'd pick the lock on the brig and go wandering looking for your galley. They'd sit down amidst your crew who probably don't notice them...

Things you just watched on netflix/streaming video...spoilers all over the joint...

Season 1 was the most inconsistent and I struggle a bit with it when I rewatch the series. By the time they get to season 2 they've definitively strayed from the details of the books (though there are parts throughout the series that are still pulled from it) and they fully find their voice and...

Things you just watched on netflix/streaming video...spoilers all over the joint...

It's the difference between taking the time to do it well and knowing the limitations and not trying to use it everywhere. They picked the shots that are CGI and the shots that could/should be animatronic. Today they're using CGI so extensively, across multiple houses in many cases, and not...

Video Game Music - original soundtracks, OCRemix, chiptunes, and the rest

Have you tried PoE II? I enjoyed that much more than PoE I. Almost, not quite - those are big shoes to fill, the BG2 to the first game's BG1.

Gaming thoughts, bite-size chewables - new orange flavor!

5 years later and I've gotten the physical rewards from the Foundation Kickstarter. On the one hand, it's a great thing that physical media and boxes have died out and I long ago got rid of most of mine (I have a few that were more than just cheap boxes holding pap - like Wing Commander III's...

    Magic the Gathering: Arena

Jim did a similar thing with Titania, Nissa and Underworld Recon combined with Worldsoul's Rage. Definitely seems neat but neither played against Domain which I imagine would be quite difficult to deal with. That last game of CGB's, which took him to the limit of his deck, highlighted just how...

Microsoft fixes problem that let Edge replicate Chrome tags without permission

People who use both browsers. I don't even see how this could get someone who never launches Edge to launch Edge given that's required for this to happen.
