    RIP Mark Lanegan

Not going to lie, this one hurts. 57 is no age. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/ ... ul-singers I've spent maybe 30 years following him around (it seems), listening to his music, watching his shows. He fought the darkness for a long time and will be much missed. RIP...

Yep. My second pair. The first lasted for ages (10+ years), but these, the midsole has crumbled after 18 months. They're repairing them for free, which is decent, but still annoying. My BBQ remains in place, but one of our fences is desperately trying to leave its moorings and make its way...

No. And to make things worse, my (German) hiking boots are away being resoled and instead of the usual 4 weeks, they're predicting 15! Unlit suplands and suchlike. Actually, it's quite funny to watch the Brexolics prosthelytize about their mighty religion. Now they'll tell you it was never...

Indeed. I suspect that he's one of those people who talks and the only people who remotely listen are those who are completely bought into this pseudo-Victorian gentlemen claptrap. Everyone else just sighs and switches off. Whatever you say, you snotty toff.

The High Court has ruled that the government's appointments of Mike Coupe and Dido Harding without competition were unlawful. The government is going to have to give itself a very stern talking to.

Whilst it is absolutely right and proper that the useless and often obstructive Dick should go, it also has the rather convenient side-effect of allowing Priti Patel (and thus, Boris) to decide who is the person who oversees his exoneration... sorry, investigation. I wonder if any of the...

Evenly arresting Massachusetts residents for carrying weapons

I don't know, quite possibly not. Mine quite specifically does and meets the specifications I posted above, from a UK gov website. I have to be honest, if I wanted to use it in a fight or similar, by the time I'd fumbled around taking it out of the pouch on my belt, working out which side the...

No worries - I thought I'd mention it because Leathermans were brought up. I suspect, in comparison, many of our weapons laws would seem entirely draconian.

Evenly arresting Massachusetts residents for carrying weapons

In England/the UK: Which pretty much covers a Leatherman. I asked a Policeman once and he said it wasn't legal to carry by the letter of the law, but that it's not really what they're looking for. If you're behaving and generally of good character, you'll be ok (although how I've got away on...

Yeah, I did essentially ask them if we could arrange it at a time more mutually agreeable, especially as they probably wouldn't want one of their employees taking time out of their paid day to interview elsewhere, but they told me that's the only time. I've booked an extended lunch break. But...

People who refuse to pay any notice to other people's schedules. If you want to interview me from EST, five hours behind, it'd be nice if you'd at least try to schedule it for the afternoon in your time, so that I'm not taking time out of my current employer's day to meet you - I'm sure you...

You're going to need bigger pockets. Strictly speaking, my Leatherman is illegal here (because the blade locks open). But it's never been an issue and I've never been told off for having it/using it. A tactical knife or flick knife (or yes, a Naginata) would be a totally different story.

Ah, it just gets better and better. It's being reported that - after his comments that Johnson is "not a total clown" this week (implying that he's either a partial clown or mostly a clown) - Johnson's newly installed Director of Communications, Guto Harri has been told not to give any more...
