I should add the caveat that most of the interviews I've conducted have been for entry/mid-level developer positions. So when someone appears in a suit+tie it indicates that they're covering for some other deficiency. I have less experience with higher-level management/director positions.

++ to this. Relaxed Professional is almost always a good look, especially in "technical" positions. I'm suspicious of anyone who shows up to an interview in a tie.
