The target market is the same as the 1st-gen Air: people who are willing to pay more for an ultra-portable machine. When the price drops, same as the current Air.

All of these are increasingly rare, bar external displays. Easy to see why Apple thinks using a hub is good enough. This reminds me of how people hated the original iMac being all-USB.

Unless Apple start making USB 3 headphones, I doubt it.
