Oh, another solution to the low ammo capacity thing I've seen in gif form: craft two identical weapons with vintage heat sinks, unload one, swap to the other and unload that one, and then swap back to the cooled down first weapon. Here's the gif using the Piranha shotgun.

You mean with a vintage heat sink? That would certainly solve the low ammo capacity issue, particularly if you're controlled with burst fire. A quick google suggests you can increase clip and spare ammo size with ranks 4 & 5 of the Sniper Rifles passive too. Unfortunately i'm only about 10 hours...
