    2016 Elections, Part One

I've noticed this too. People voting Sanders who have almost no reason ideological or self-interested to do so. I know a person who 1)thinks Atlas Shrugged is a good tale of individualism over collectivism, 2) posts odes to right wing books like The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels and...

    2016 Elections, Part One

$splain is a term that is pretty magnetic to improper uses, just by its nature. Regardless of if there is a "proper" definition, that's not how people always use it.

DARPA to host killer “Improv” performances with hacked hardware

No, its more making sure they know about any good ideas anyone has, before they get 0dayed by the creative IED.

After an easy breach, hackers leave “TIPS WHEN RUNNING A SECURITY COMPANY”

Trump --- the guy who thought The Sharper Image was a good place to sell steaks.

After an easy breach, hackers leave “TIPS WHEN RUNNING A SECURITY COMPANY”

Looks like the idiots didn't even salt. Fools. You would think salting would be universal these days.

Man accused of jamming passengers’ cell phones on Chicago subway

Don't see the U.S on that list. And, even though it feels like it sometimes, a light rail train is not a prison, and jammer dude isn't a government official.

Analysis of sediment core ties Antarctic ice cover to CO2 concentration

I'd suspect that its more that some people have a google alert for "climate change" and then roll over to any article on that subject to shitpost.

Analysis of sediment core ties Antarctic ice cover to CO2 concentration

Hmmm..... the first post in the thread is nonsense. Since it seems like time to post worthless pseudoscience BS in the thread, lets mix it up and link to that postmodernist glaciology paper that has been going around http://phg.sagepub.com/content/early/20 ... 23368.long just as many facts...

Supreme Court won’t tinker with ruling giving copyright to the Batmobile

No one is saying its a form of tangible property. People are countering the idiotic claim that its not a form of property at all. Like this post

Supreme Court won’t tinker with ruling giving copyright to the Batmobile

 DJRlaw is right. It seems like you have a big time misconception of what lawyers mean by property. Namely, property is a right, not a thing. The tangible object at question does not matter in the case of copyrights. A tangible object is not even needed to make a property right. The...

Maybe not one bank. (individual failures happen occasionally). But multiple banks of size, yes. One thing to note is that monetary base is these days just a medium of reconciling payments. The main medium of exchange in the economy is bank assets and bonds of various types (with government money...

    2016 Elections, Part One

This type of thing is pretty core to the reason I'm voting Clinton. Sanders is such that out of ideological purity he might do something quite irresponsible (like let the entire financial system crash and burn, or limit the Federal Reserve's powers). I'm not in full agreement with Clinton on...

    2016 Elections, Part One

Protectionism is the ultimate case of the horse shoe theory, its a case where the worst elements of the left and the worst of the right come together. To demonstrate. Here is a quote supporting protectionism. Guess if it came from a Trump supporter or a Sanders supporter.

Trump figured out how to do what many Democrats have failed at; energize Latino voter turnout and bring it to par with the turnout of white voters :eng101:

I've noticed the same thing. The religious conservatives I know quite often despise Trump with a special kind of passion. Although there are still some who seem to love the guy, the one consistent thing is either hate or love pick one. Very few religious conservatives seem neutral on Trump.

Are tech companies any better ...

Well, there is also the issue of employee quality. Google gets some of the best people in the field --- and pays quite a bit for the privilege. Other companies give lesser pay, and get lesser employees.
