The next version of HTTP won’t be using TCP

It's a real solution to a real problem. The question is, is the added complexity worth it, and how long until we need another, breaking solution?

The next version of HTTP won’t be using TCP

Many sites are moving to blocking content until and unless you load all that shit. Can't even browse incognito on a growing number of sites now. Websites seem to think they should own your computer/phone.

The next version of HTTP won’t be using TCP

How is it not new? How many web servers around the world support it? 0.001% ?

French investigators to work directly with Facebook to monitor hate speech

This. It won't work. Not without WWIII picking a winner first.

French investigators to work directly with Facebook to monitor hate speech

Hm. I suggest that it is exactly it's aim, since it pays extremely well. Everything else they spew about connecting the world is just a cover story. They know damn well what they are doing.

The next version of HTTP won’t be using TCP

Vast majority of internet traffic is video - porn and Netflix. Don't think this really helps that. What do I know, fracturing HTTP may be fine for the future. Most new tech doesn't survive though and we'll still be stuck supporting it.

French investigators to work directly with Facebook to monitor hate speech

It exposes the insanity of humanity quite well.

The next version of HTTP won’t be using TCP

Very true, but since the original HTTP was so simple, billions of devicess/programshave been written to use it. A new protocol may see some quick adoption, but I don't see it ever being able to replace 1.0/1.1, or even getting more than a fraction of the"market share".

The next version of HTTP won’t be using TCP

Talk about a breaking change! I'll bet we can expect adoption in about a century or two, if ipv6 is any guide.

Facebook joins Google, halts mandatory arbitration in sexual harassment cases

Not a cartel. Not coordinated. Not pretending the owners are saviours and salvations of the actual, physical people.

Elon Musk’s Tesla roadster reaches its furthest point from the Sun

They didn't put a beacon on it? Or cover it with shiny mirrors? So shortsighted. If you're going to litter the solar system, do something useful.

Google ends mandatory arbitration in sexual harassment cases

So you admit that mandatory arbitration is a dirty fucking trick that never should have been used... But you'll continue to use it everywhere else.

Genetics play less of a role in lifespan than we thought

So along with long-lived people, people who are less likely to live very long tend to pick marriage partners who also won't live very long? Of course, this also assumes choice in marriage is a real thing historically. My guess is a lot of times choice was either not present or very limited.

Gab cries foul as Pennsylvania attorney general subpoenas DNS provider

Lawyers don't ask, they demand, whether or not they have a legal right. It is an intimidation tactic and they will try to use your disobedience against you any way they can.

Gab cries foul as Pennsylvania attorney general subpoenas DNS provider

The point is that there really CAN'T be a reason. They're a DNS provider, not a secret Nazi cabal.

Gab cries foul as Pennsylvania attorney general subpoenas DNS provider

They proactively told the target of a supboena not to talk about it. That's abusive.

Gab cries foul as Pennsylvania attorney general subpoenas DNS provider

I think the fact that the government tried to keep this secret is the most damning part.
