What’s going on with Russia’s new heavy lift rocket?

Angara is not made to compete with anything SpaceX produces, the author is dead wrong. The Soyuz level is where FalconX is right now. It's just not in the same league

Hyundai stops engine development and reassigns engineers to EVs

I drove yesterday my 11 years old diesel for 200 km in the Netherlands. 1 liter of gas was above 2€ - $8.34 for a US gallon. Diesel some 1,8€. Highway maximum legal speed: 100km/h - 60miles/hour, great for EVs. The Netherlands has half of the electrical charging stations in all EU. You get...

2022 could be a huge year for big rocket debuts—or maybe not

I've seen a news story about Ariane 6 on french television, it seems it is very close to launching. The new complex launch system (on the ground) is key to the success of the rocket in regards to the expected costs. The good news was somewhat undermined by an interview with Elon Musk that said...

What the physics of crowds can tell us about the tragic deaths at Astroworld

I've been in a lot of heavy metal mosh pits over the years. The only thing keeping people out of it is fear. The kind of music being played is very important, you have to know what to expect otherwise it can get very very bad.

Rocket Report: Ariane V returns after long layoff, Rocket Lab’s tough culture

China has a working rover on Mars, they managed that at the first attempt, do you really think they need to copy anything at this point? They also have a working Space Station.

Biden blasts social media after Facebook stonewalls admin over vaccine misinformation

Seems to me a lot of you have a problem with people you don't agree with. If they don't do anything ileggal, why silence them? Totalitarian youth, sad times.

Remove anonymity on the internet, problem solved. Company spreads crap about something posted by some guy, company pays.

Sweeping “Green Deal” promises to revamp EU economy, slash carbon pollution

I voted for the European Parliament and that's it. It has no power. The rest are NOT elected, like I said. Reality is not a myth. The fact that they try to impose sweeping changes to our way of life without consulting the EU citizens or the parliaments of member states is a scandal.

Sweeping “Green Deal” promises to revamp EU economy, slash carbon pollution

Lots of false statements there, let me summaries: every law passed by the European parliament is null until it is passed by the individual parliament of each country. If a head of government is against a certain proposition coming from the Council (the other heads of government) the...

Sweeping “Green Deal” promises to revamp EU economy, slash carbon pollution

As a EU citizen I'm amazed to see the "commission" has any opinions about anything. They are an unelected group with ideas and lobby groups running around them. As an explanation, the Commission is a sort of Government without power that goes around throwing ideas and is the Heads of Governments...

SpaceX loses another Starship prototype as landing sequence fails

This looks wayyyyyyyy too risky for human flight. Maybe this whole concept is over the top for the current technology.

Amid panic over AstraZeneca vaccine, WHO urges countries to keep using it

I was supposed to get the AZ this Saturday. I'm in my 40s, former Covid patient a year ago, pretty healthy overall. My parents and one of my sisters got the Pfizer vaccine, I don't get to choose (at my age). I very much want to get a shot. Looking at the cases (not presented in this article)...

Is there a shift from disbelieving climate change to attacking renewables?

We should really invest more in the electric grid network. Every time there's a problem somewhere on the electric grid there are a bunch of people that put every fault on the renewable industry. Usually it has nothing to do with reality, but for most people it's really easy to induce fear and...

Review: thought-provoking sci-fi drama Bliss works on multiple levels

Really really bad movie. Apart from some beautiful scenery from the Croatian coast, you really get just frustration out of it.

China officially plans to move ahead with super-heavy Long March 9 rocket

Pound for pound, a solid rocket booster is the most efficient way for a first stage rocket to lift stuff. Making it reusable only lowers the efficiency. The jungle in the picture might be Kooroo, French Guyana
