It was a "holiday". I would guess most US workers did not have it off. I certainly didn't. As a general principle, more power to Ars/CN for not having their employees work over a holiday on an emergency basis, but Presidents' Day is not Christmas.

They certainly are not treating this episode as the existential threat that I think it actually poses.
