I used to care....

Now that this is another program destined to go nowhere (now that spaceX has to carry the huge money losers in xai and x), it's hard to be excited.

Its amazing to do so much brand damage to so many good companies, all to avoid admitting that you were an idiot to post a public crazy bid for worthless Twitter.

Talk about not being able to see the forest for the trees. Look, any company that controls both the access to space and the most advanced AI will eventually make the current S&P 500 look like a collection of lemonade stands. How can you not see that?

Yeah, Twitter was junk when Musk bought it, he WAY over paid for it. However, he explicitly stated that he didn't buy Twitter for the money, but to preserve a "digital town square" essential for democracy. In that light, the $44 billion that he paid wasn't a business investment, it was an act of philanthropy.
