"Person from the Americas" could probably work but it's also a weird distinction to make because, well, why would you need to lump North America and South America together when talking about where someone is from?
Edit: see also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_(word) for a discussion on the common usage of the word in English (and other languages, where sometimes version does typically refer to someone from any of the two American continents)
