Hard to believe that the production crew showed a static rocket image during ignition and initial liftoff to clear the tower. Major fail there for such a PR mission.
Yeah, I think Isaacman's concern about launch cadence affecting the program also applies to their video production.

Yeesh, could the program only afford a Chromebook to render these "live" 3d views? Its like 2spf (seconds per frame...)? I think my Pi Zero W could do better than this... They might as well just switch to a static placeholder screen and overlay the telemetry with the radio chatter. The rendering crap is beyond useless...

And I feel like they were going for realistic lighting, except you can't even make out the engine nozzle on my OLED tv...(streaming via YouTube at 4k from my PC). Earlier they had the nozzle flare from the main booster so bright that it washed out the actual launch vehicle. It would be nice if they toned down the "HDR" on this so people watching can actually see the vehicle...

I forgot, $2,000,000,000 a launch doesn't buy you cameras, just 1982-level CGI -- might as well tune out at this point.

My earlier sentiments still stand, but sincerely: kudos to everyone. With launches this infrequent, I really hope no QC manager involved in this project will have to buy their own drinks tonight.

Is this real imagery or really fancy CGI? If the former: cool! If the latter: also cool :)

Edit: someone on reddit posted the sequence

That is not the official feed. The first clue is SpaceX has nothing to do with the launch today.
There was nothing saying "SpaceX" until just before the launch there was a voiceover saying there was a technical stop, and it switched to Musk making his sales pitch.
I made the mistake of following the NASA channel on Youtube, then I switched computer, and I was apparently offered a legit looking channel.

Damn scammers...

One of my earliest memories, just after my third birthday, is of watching the Apollo 11 crew on the moon. This launch is pulling up a lot of feelings for me, regardless of whatever else I may think about it.
Just after my second, and I'm right there with ya
