ICE may not have murdered anyone for a couple of days, but their occupation of Minneapolis hasn't let up. Now they're detaining white U.S. citizens:

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/ice-is-cracking-down-people-who-follow-them-their-cars-2026-02-10/

The arrest of Ringstrom became the latest detention of one of thousands of local activists for violating Title 18, Section 111 of the U.S. Code, a catch-all charge for anyone who “forcibly assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates, or interferes” with a federal officer conducting official duties. The statute can be charged as a felony or misdemeanor. As a felony, it carries up to 20 years in prison, but penalties beyond eight years are reserved for people who use “a deadly or dangerous weapon” or cause an injury.
A Reuters review of federal court records found that the Trump administration has prosecuted at least 655 people under that charge across the U.S. since a series of city-focused immigration crackdowns began last summer. That’s more than double the prosecutions during the same period in 2024-2025, according to a review of publicly available criminal filings in Westlaw, a legal research database owned by Thomson Reuters.
One of the officials said ICE was referring several people per day in Minnesota alone to federal prosecutors for potential charges under the same law for interfering with police operations.
The woman’s husband spoke to the ICE officer outside of the couple’s house. When the husband questioned the tactic, the officer said, “You raise your voice, I erase your voice,” the video showed.

Gov. Walz says he expects ‘Operation Metro Surge’ to wind down soon

...
Walz said that since Trump’s border czar Tom Homan took over operations in Minnesota from Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino two weeks ago, his administration has spoken with Homan daily. Walz said he also spoke to Trump’s Chief of Staff Susie Wiles this morning.
...

Walz cautioned that although he expects the operation to wind down soon, Trump is unpredictable and will likely declare the immigration operation successful before he orders federal agents out of Minnesota.

“It is very important for the president of the United States to believe he wins,” Walz said. “They’ve got to believe they accomplished what they were going to accomplish. It’s my understanding they think they did that.”

Say one thing for Walz, he's sure got Trump figured out. Trump's desperate for a win on this knowing that the longer it goes on the worse it looks for him. I'm guessing that's part of why Gov Walz had a big press blitz today highlighting the economic toll this is having on the state.

Meanwhile ICE has gone back to having plain clothes agents literally chase people down in court houses. Sure this guy was caught with his buddies hauling 50+ lbs of meth but yeeting him into ICE custody before trial they just blew the State case and maybe even jeopardized the convictions of the other two defendants (not to mention any possible chance state could get him to flip on any higher ups). So much winning 🤦‍♂️

I believe Walz believes it will wind down. I also believe Walz isn't known for jumping on things too early or crying wolf. But I think there's a lot of us who are gonna need to see months-long sustained lack of ICE before we feel comfortable even thinking about letting our guard down.

How one Minneapolis man is helping neighbors surveil ICE back

When thousands of immigration agents flooded Minneapolis late last year, Garrett Guntly had an idea: a network of neighbor-owned security cameras, pointed towards public areas, that they could use to monitor ICE activity in the area.

He affixed a security camera first to his own south Minneapolis home, pointing it at the bus stop across the street. In early January, the camera captured Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detaining a man while he waited for the bus.

Now, nearly one month later, he’s installed more than 20 cameras on willing neighbors’ houses — and they’ve worked together to interrupt around a dozen immigrant arrests, Guntly says.

Nah man, just advertise it as “GangFind” - an app that alerts you if there are gangs of masked men in your neighborhood and warns you if they’re armed. No need to mention ICE specifically at all. And then anyone who opposes it has to explain why it’s not a public service to alert others if you see masked, armed men in your neighborhood. Good luck with that rhetorical pretzel.

[edit] Just to stick it to them even worse, you could have it automatically detect badges and silence the alert if badges are detected - “so we don’t accidentally trigger warnings on legitimate law enforcement officers” - sweet smile.

And now we have ICE refusing to provide detained kidney transplantees
“It is a longstanding practice to provide comprehensive medical care from the moment an alien enters ICE custody,” McLaughlin’s statement continued. “This is the best healthcare many aliens have received in their entire lives.”
Quote from article.
This is so fucking disgusting. First of all, it doesn't matter the person is an 'alien', their basic needs must be met. Due process should take care of other concerns.

But also, I am an immigrant, I used to be an 'alien', then got a green card, then a US passport after many a filings. To use the word 'alien' as if that makes it OK to neglect and possibly kill people is just so gross.

I've always received the healthcare I needed. Sure, not cheap, but I did always get high quality care during the various transitions. What we're reading about here is willful negligence and a lack of accountability, mixed with pure hate and sadism.

A very Nazi thing to do and yes I know the history I was born and schooled over there.

Unfortunately, that's why the quote 'the cruelty is the point' is so representative of everything going on.

And now we have ICE refusing to provide detained kidney transplantees with their anti-rejection drugs. Which is to say murder by another name.

Edit: Fixed wrong link.
Whoa. Whoa. Calm down. It only took them 4 or 5 days, but the guy is getting his medication. It's not the right dosages, or regular, and he might die because of it, but it's "the best healthcare many aliens have received in their entire lives.” The family only got a doctor's explicit instructions and drove the medication to the Whipple building promptly, you can't just expect them to give it to the guy quickly or effectively. There's paperwork to be done and most of their staff are busy trying to figure out how to feed their kids when the paychecks aren't coming in while still keeping up the work of terrorizing Minnesota. Cut them some slack, will ya?

There's really nothing that stuff can't cure.
The charlatans in charge of this country are pushing Ivermectin as a cure for cancer. Small potatoes against, you know, pervasive child rape and unconstitutional incarcerations and murder and criminal embezzlement, but put it on the pile.

Tom Homan just gave an address full of lies FUD and pretence that the narrative is about getting access to jails and agitators "laying hands on" ice agents etc, not trampling over people's rights from life, to protection against illegal searches, to due process. He said mission accomplished, rah rah, and they'll be ending metro surge and winding down in Minneapolis, while simultaneously saying that people voted for mass deportations and people will get mass deportations and they're just going to start by arresting violent criminals, but will arrest "everybody" which is a bit of a Freudian slip in that I think he meant to say "all illegal immigrants" but probably really means "all immigrants" and instead just said "everybody" if my notes are right. He made it clear that they are not backing down.

I think you all can hear his message loud and clear.

So, a lie then.
I mean, lies mixed with semantics, mental gymnastics, and distractions. Like, he kept bringing up that he had heard people upset about arrests in churches, hospitals, and schools and how that'd never happened. Sure... But nobody was bitching about that. They're complaining about you breaking into people's homes without warrants and shooting them for helping a lady out of a snow bank. Also, it's real great that you didn't arrest anyone in a school, but maybe don't tear gas a school please, while you're at it.

So as v for vendetta says, he used the truth to tell lies.

Not that anyone here needs a reminder that ICE is awful, actual gangster criminals and racists, but it's nice to see them get hoisted by their legal petards:

Two federal officers appear to have lied about an incident last month in Minneapolis that ended with one of them shooting a Venezuelan immigrant in the leg, ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons said Friday.

The two officers are under investigation by the Justice Department, Lyons said. The announcement comes one day after federal prosecutors dropped the criminal cases against two immigrants in connection with the Jan. 14 episode. Department of Homeland Security leaders, including Secretary Kristi Noem, had previously defended the officers, saying they had fended off an “attempted murder” and that one officer had fired in self-defense.

“A joint review by ICE and the Department of Justice (DOJ) of video evidence has revealed that sworn testimony provided by two separate officers appears to have made untruthful statements,” Lyons said in a statement. “Both officers have been immediately placed on administrative leave pending the completion of a thorough internal investigation….The U.S. Attorney’s Office is actively investigating these false statements.”

This is why they keep knocking down cameras and confiscating (and selling, occasionally) phones of people witnessing their crimes. They are not law enforcement. They are violent gangs, Donald Trump's attack dogs, dispatched to harm Americans by any means necessary, including fabricating testimony to excuse their attempted murders. Remember this the next time ICE murders a human being because they were supposedly about to be run over.

Meanwhile what is Kristi Noem up to these days? Let's see....oh, she's off firing coast guard pilots because she forgot her blankie on a plane. Sorry, she didn't fire the pilot, her extramarital sidepiece "advisor" did. And then they had to immediately reinstate him because nobody else could fly the plane they were using.

The GOP, everybody.
