SAN FRANCISCO—On Wednesday at a converted warehouse in the Dogpatch neighborhood, Google showed off two new products: the updated Nexus 7 tablet (along with Android 4.3) and a new product called the Chromecast. The former is an updated version of its one-year old tablet, with better resolution and battery life, plus much more. The latter seemed to come as a surprise to the assembled crowd. It’s an HDMI dongle that lets various devices on a single local Wi-Fi network toss audio, pictures, and video to a proper television. Here’s a little taste of what we saw today.
